What a disappointment...

I'll give credit to the Fresh Prince as i thought he played the role admirably but the plot was pretty bad and the original storyline was completely torn apart by Hollywood fuckwits. The first half was decent and there were moments where i was engrossed by the tension but eventually it just became rather crap.

It seemed to just rely on the empty NYC shots that were clearly ripped off from 28days later. The CGI wasnt scary at all and did the film no favours. Character development was pretty poor and the ending was absolutely dire, can't believe how badly they strayed from the original book's ending/theme.

anyone else seen it? If you haven't then don't waste money at the cinema (theres a perfectly good dvdrips about now i beleive)

yeah i agree, really disappointing. starts promising, and seems pretty good for the first half hour or something, but the people with the disease look ridiculous and fake.. just because they got rabies or whatever it is, it makes them take all their cloths off and their mouths go abnormally huge? also- theyre weak to sunlight/shoudl be generally weaker yet they throw mr smith around..ruins it. if the infected were real people, it wouldve made it so much better.. he was butched up for no reason, couldnt fit with the gay cgi.

dont go see it

yeah, i watched it. It was nothing more than watchable. Although for most of the first hour i was thinking 'why am i watching one man and his dog?' - thought that series died with the bbc archive in the early eighties tbh.

I thought it was alright, haven't read the book so don't have anything to compare it too. Being a dog owner I connected to the doggy bits! The empty NYC/Broken bridges parts, didn't totally get it..never been there so I guess it's really busy? I didn't even notice the broken bridge till the second scene of it.

Over 50% will have gone to see this just cos WS is in it. The CGI is shockingly bad. When the lion walks out with the cubs i half expected it to talk !

Really like Omega man, not read the book. Supposed to be going to the cinema to see I am Legend with the wife but not sure we will bother now, will probably torrent it instead.

As someone who hasnt seen/read the books, will i be able to go and see this film and enjoy it for being a film in itself? as i don't have any inconvenient preconceptions.

Never heard of the books before now to be honest but I'd still say almost word for word what megadave said in the original post. I was looking forward to this when I saw it advertised but found myself continually reassuring myself it'd be okay because it'd pick up soon...which it never really did.

Some of the scenes which could have led to masterpieces left me feeling disappointed with such great ideas being ruined. I know it's not the first of its genre or so but still, it should have been done better.

Watched it a few days ago, highly overrated.

They would have been much much better advised to make a film of James Herberts '48' which is a truely great book and could have been visually stunning. Legend just left me feeling cold, the screenplay was botched and the visuals were circa 1996 at certain points.

agree with Nate, will smith tried to carry it but it just lost its steam halfway

It's not a bad film by any means but isnt really amazing either
