Off-topic really doesn't just equate to a place to post purely for the sake of raising your post count and annoying people in the process. If people want to 'spam', that's perfectly fine as long as it reasonably has some merit; as is the case for the big majority of posters here (even old Sicky and his picture propaganda).

One letter/word/smilie posts, especially when there's a number in the same threads, unless they're in context, are largely a waste of time. And after a year of doing this I seriously do get bored having to delete them from the same people.
