I happened to be in PC World in Lincoln today. I noticed GTA3 for £19.99, "blimey" I said to my 3 yr old, "thats cheap" (as if she was interested.:rolleyes:

Didnt buy it though.

Later on I was in GAME and noticed that it was on the shelf for £29.99. Hmmmm, "scuse me m8, do you do a price promise" I asked the rather attractive young lady behind the counter.
"certainly sir"

So I explained the deal, she rang PC world to check, and I got GTA3 for 20 quid. :D

We got a PC World pretty near to us recently too.

Pity the staff there are as totally clue-free as their counterparts in the PCW in Lisburn.

My Town has bugger all in it.. a few stores like Argos, Dixons, WHSmths etc.. but nothing INTERESTING, oh, but i suppose you get free Pollution.. thats a plus in some cases.. :(

heh, just outside Liverpool, and the other major Cities (Warrington, St. Helens etc).

Next to the River Mersey /Harry Enfield "Ferry across the Merzey.."

We have a *ok'ish* Rugger team, midtable in the SL ;)

And, we're also shown on "MerseyBeat" which shows on Monday 9pm on BBC1 heh (They usually do scenes of the Pub i live next door too :))

You should be able to. He offered me a GAME card (wish Id got it now :( ) and I could have had the discount from that too.

Imagine this rate on a daily basis for 13 months.

Waiting until I'm ready to drop off my feet before going to bed though, cos I've not slept well all this week - about 13-15 hours since Sunday night.

Im just jealous, Im stuck at work.

We have an incredibley fast connection here, but I cant install any games on the PC, so Im stuck reading this rubbish.:(

Roll on 7am.

Install Q2, but hide the q2 dir somewhere deep in your filesystem, and when you play, run it in a window, so you can minimise it when people come near :D

Thats the problem, I cant install anything, the Administrators have disabled that facility somehow. Even for Flash 5 ffs.:eek:

But, you don't need to "install" q2. It doesn't use registry entrys or any shit like that, you just stick the dir containing all the game files somewhere, and run the binary.

I think all the Q2 CDs available, have the data lying on the CD not compressed into an install file or anything, so you can just copy the files accross manually. I've got the Q2 CD from that set of all 3 Quakes in 1 box, and i copied all the files accross myself file :)

/EDIT:
Looking on the CD, the Q2 dir is complete, so installing manually would be piss easy. It contains all the rendering libraries etc, so for windows you could proberbly even run it off the cdrom if you had a fast one :)

On my cd, the dir structure goes:
cdrom-index /Install/Data/
And the dir 'Data' can just be moved onto your harddrive, and renamed to whatever you like, and you should be set :)

He doth indeedy be right - I only know because I tend to use the same install of Quake.X games for several years through OS partition reformats etc.

Had my Q2 install from 1999 until present, and my Q3 install for 1 year so far - gg faulty IBM deskstar 75GXP :/

Just as long as he doesn't have to run it in software mode, cos Q2 in s/ware mode is horrible.

And very very laggy even on a decent system with plenty of vid memory.
