Its personal Preferance
for instance
My Spec allows-
7 BC green pet for interupts
10 Spear Anytime style with Evade style (Low damage yeah but tbh why are you meleeing unless your enemy is on 10% or is a caster)
24 Bow for 4 second Critical Shot and 3 second anytime shot and ofc massive damage
19+5 stealth is normaly enought to keep assasins and scouts away from you
Basicly the same spec as hargards Scout Bowmaiden (He death spams well with her and solos alot) but he has shield instead of BC
for instance

I have tried that spec and many others, your spec is limited to sniper, although you will do more damage than me with bow, I would win any fight against that spec, only time your would be better is CK defense and not by a great deal.
You are very vunerable to infils jumping you and basically will not win in that situation where as I do
Can kill from range and when jumped.

hmm can any1 help me decide, i cant work out if i want my hunter to be either the following specs.
basically similar to that of svendocs with the higher BC for better pet.
or
go for following
21 Bow
19 stealth
16 spear
6 BC
the second choice, means i have reasonably high spear, good bow damage, stealth is fine, but i get the speed boost in BC for escaping if things get tough.
Compared to svendocs who has blue pet, but at 18 bow seems little low. How is your damage at 18 with bow?
Oh and i have gone for spear just cus my skald was sword, so its sumit different. But also with all those nasty infils debuffing strength spear being dex/strength im hoping means i wont be as gimped if they land the debuff.

At the end of the day your call if you want sniper only go kobold bow otherwise try mine, this is third hunter i have specd like this in Thid and IMHO by far the best.

I would go 13 BC as blue con wolfie is a life saver against a lot of infis and nses, the bad ones end up with braking stains in their pants and then they start to run giving you a free win unless they find some friends fast. Wolfie is good for reducing infi evade rate as long as you keep it behind them, ie move backwards in fight, while doing decent damage. Remember you wield a very slow spear in close quarter fighting. But at the end of the day, the spec you chose is only good if it fits your playing style.

I got same spec as Sven on Kylee except spear instead of sword.. having tried a few set-ups this one is nice.
I just soloed a mincer and 'AN Other' melee type and lived ... surprised me mind.
Get a good AC and SC set of armor and get those stats sorted ...
Any other spec doesnt stand a good all round chance in thid.

hi my name is mechanic ... hunter and new to mid/pryd ... I do ok now but when I had shitty armor I couldnt kill hardly anything except for wounded or blue's :s

21 bow (+3 atm )

It all depends on play style, imo if you know how to play a hit and run char and like it the best spec is kobold 24 bow 13 BC 19 stealth rest in spear which is mine. Ive loved it so far, i can take out almost any target i choose as long as i get the position of pet to break BT (if its a caster) and the positioning of myself fine.
Also another key factor of being a sniper is choosing your targets, main threats are theurgs so take them out unless you think you can kill the cleric in a few shots from a safe spot not many would look (but that tends to make albs retreat back to their keep and hide).
Problem with this build is youre melee sux, its quite simple though you just have to run from melee fights (anyway if 1 infil pops out and hits you theres either gonna be a zerg nearby or the rest of his stealth group to finish you off). One problem though, you gotta watch out for pets... best thing is to run until youre alone with the pet and let your own pet take care of it, its on a very short recast timer so if your first one happens to die your next one wont be far off

Yeah aneurism is quite good hunter so far only fought her 2 times and once she beat me at mb, the other i killed her. I also play Mid/Excal and the spec my hunter has is:
21 bow
16 spear
19 stealth
7 BC
I tried 24 bow before which is ok for sniping but even with 21 bow my critshot is in the 400's which aint bad and swinging with a spear for 100-200+ (depending on resists) aint bad either i have dropped quite a few infs that have jumped me before but pet is a bit lower but i only use it to chase stealthers/interupt casters if i am taking on more than 1 target at a time.

I can kill buffed spear spec hunters without using endurance, so i figure if your 1 v 1 against an inf, hes going to start by PAing you or garroting and at least hit you twice before you get your spear out(at this point your dieased and Str/con debuffed) Your weapon skill is now shit, your hardly hit him.
With 24 Bow and high stealth you have the fun of oneshotting sitting casters etc, also do alot of frontload damage. Its the same with a scout, specing alot in slash/thrust and Shield will not help you V a shadowblade or a Nightshade.

I'm just giving pros and cons in my view (playing as a Scout/Inf) and as a Inf i know a hunter can't compair in melee abilities to a Infiltrator unless one is weaker setup than other (Unbuffed/unspellcrafed etc) My scout is in the same situation (as are rangers) that if a shadowblade gets the jump on us, we are normaly very dead.If you travel alone i would love to fight your hunter, specialy if you say he'll be a challenge

kobold hunter always has a chance against the infil its just a question of can he escape the garrote spam? if u can then you can just call a pet and keep running infil will eventually give up chasing and if u were able to save some end from the garrote spam then u can just pull a bow out only prob... infils dont tend to solo much nowadays so there might always be another hanging around
