Hunter advice needed

Hi all , i've just deleted my char on albion and moved here and am in the process of making a hunter .
However i'd appreciate any advice on ways to spec , and whether i should auto train anything .

Unless you fletch for yourself you arrows are going to be rubbish. They cost a fortune to keep buying so i advice borrow gold from guild and get 550 fletching asap to make your own.
spec, i made mine before pets so BC wasnt important to me, but now i guess its very tempting with the anytime pets.

i have 44 bow/spear works for me
lower bow is an option alot of guys say anything over 27(last crit shot) is really a waste of time as damage cap and varience dosnt actually change that much, im not so sure.

But for now id spec my points about 50/50 bow spear ignore stealth entirely until lvl 40s keep beastcraft highaswell with left over points.

consult a charcter builder to see when the new spear styles come in and new BC self buffs etc.
plan arround that

if you want to roll for BG only---im not sure --- max bow high stealth, altho u will be spotted by assasins very easily high spear too could be fun Pet doggy wont help u much.


autotrain stealth as much as you can. does bow autotrain?? quite possibly, but u wont be able to solo without it..

I think hunters don't autotrain anything. Tried to do that as well and failed miserably

hunter dont auto anything.
best advice can give you abouot hunter, dont start it.
choose bone/sb/zerg any other class but no hunter.
you just get frustrated whit it.
if you still wanna try, look some guides, classes of camelot is some.
insta pet is nice.
well, dont start hunter, its totall gimp dammit

hunters spear is kinda crazy damage, i often get hit for more damage by a hunters spear then by a spearo.

example being 600 odd damage off a certain hunter who found me after i failed to p.a them

and 500 odd damage off a spearo in a duel, both these people were lvl 50, vs a lvl 46 shade.

go high spear, 27 bow, highish stealth, highish beastcraft, and come kick my arse like most other hunters do.

btw don't hunters auto train bow like rangers and scouts do?

Hunters aint that bad anymore. Duelled a Pac Healer and a Supp Runie today and won both duells. (Now dont tell me to try vs tanks bcz thats NOT what hunters are made for!) Healer was close thou.

My spec is 49 bow, 39 spear, 32 beast, 27 stealth. Most people go lower bow and higher spear thou... 50 spear is a good choice if you are going for defensive RAs like dodger. But then you are just another light tank... a bad one thou good for finding and killing assassins.

While leveling dont care for stealth (except you wanna go to Thid but then you will find leveling very hard afterwards) and keep spear and bow high. (1 or 2 points below your level till at least 35) Put the rest into Beastcraft and you will do fine soloing aswell as in groups.

When you PA you get a medium penalty to defence.

I would guess it musta been a bufffed, high RR hunter to do that kinda damage.

that will have been a crit hit from the hunter

when i said failed to p.a them.

i meant i failed to kill them off p.a with my poxy 30pierce 36crit strike, meaning i promptly ran and hid,

hunter in question was belxavior...... never know how to spell his name right, but i'm often hit for more then 400 damage with spear, and i'm currently wearing af 102 spellcrafted + 35%bonus armour...... that melee damage boost u got seems to have helped your class alot.

nah i've got seriously small daoc time at the moment, due to uni preperation.... (e.g 10000+hrs working a week ) and also got social things interupting too, like going to bristol to visit friends for informative guides of the uni (and getting very drunk)

been about 3 weeks since i was last able to play my ns, i'm running round the bg any time i have for daoc currently

think i could finally beat u in a duel now though

i got 44 bow 44 spear 32 bc 30 stealth .. seems to work quite well ... always gonna be infil bait but with camo up and insta pet its still fun

Pac healers aren´t exactly a killer machine, prolly the weakest class you could duel. They don´t got anything to help them in the offence execpt melee and insta stunn. And the insta heals are to weak to keep em alive long.

So far i havn´t lost any duels to hunter with a sup runie. Mostly see to have some range to hunters though, to render them help less with ns and root though.

Well, Bivor got 2 insta heals, 2 insta cc's, enough aug for the lower self buffs and wears chain armor. Try taking such a healer down with a sniper spec. And then tell me again he's weak!

And yes, NS is pain in the ass but you can use speed burst to run outa LOS and restealth. I was a bit lucky thou... he didnt have the chance to nuke me once. The pet did a good job.
