Huge Food Product Recall!!

I saw this on the news today.

Apparantly an illegal food dye called Sudan 1 has been used in a recent batch of food products. This dye has caused cancer in animals before and thats why its illegal to use.

Whats suprised me is given that it was a Worcester sauce that was contaminated how widely used it was.... seems like the staple ingrediant to most store branded ready meals is some Worcester sauce.

What makes me laugh is how many processed foods are on that list.

If this isn't a wakeup call for people to eat proper food, I don't know what is.

Oh great, I've eaten quite a lot of Sainsbury's Chinese chicken wings and drumsticks that were on the full list so there's something new to worry about.

Preservative 305
Sugar
Food dye Sudan 1

Its just another scare story. They were grilling some woman from the food safety agency this morning, Fiona (I think thats her name) couldn't seem to comprehend the fact that the agency can't possibly test every single food on the shelves.

Honestly, the number of people who use McDonalds, who gives a shit about some crappy little dye?

Thinking that is the stuff on Big Macs... but why on earth is it low fat its not as if it matters on a greasy burger!!!

They just added a load of new things at 4 o clock today... loads of sheppards pies and every store branded chicken wings.

Begining to think starting up a company making Worstershire sauce might be a good idea given its used in a stageringly large proportion of processed food!
