HoX and rouges vs tanks

As topic says, how well do these classes fit the "tank" role? can they take some beating or are they pure paper tanks? Can a HoX when morphed withstand some beating? PvP wise and Pve wise.

Any answers would be much appreciated from ppl who tried em in last beta phase or in the early release.

Hard to say. It's not like every one is 80 and had the chance to play each or against each class.

They are paper thin, specially the assasin. As it was said, rogues are scissors and tanks are stones

HoX is kind of a special case as happens with hybrids in any game (including DAOC)

Back in beta higher leveled HoXes complained about getting spiked to easy, due to their little HP buffer. Whatever forum-whine is worth of course...

32 on my Guardian a the moment and he can take a hell of a beating with right feat build + defence stance/enduring defence maneuver. haven't met a single class yet that can take anywhere near what a guardian takes... using defence stance/enduring defence maneuver does come with a cost tho ur damage goes down a fair whack can still kill pretty fine tho in my experience.. usually i'm only running around with Defence Stance on and I leave Enduring Defence Maneuver off.

35 on my HOX and you cant tank at all, in morph its better but even with me going down the avatar line i can get a 60 second morph every 15 minutes otherwise its 25 seconds every 2 so thats not really a good option.

You get a defence buff but your defence rating is still very low and you get sod all hp, on the upside you get insane aoe dps in melee and real eye opening burst damage.

In my opinion my HOX feels like some warped love child of my zerker and staj's chanter :E

You can not compare the classes of DAoC to AoC classes really.

It's like comparing a bicycle to a Formula 1 car.

I think you can. In fact i agree with the conections made, cept maybe I would put the DW barb with no hide as a zerker/blademaster, and the HoX as valewalker/mauler/vamp with a vendo mode

i wanna know what the comparision think is so different about shadowblade and infilitrator so they arent compared with same AoC class?

I was thinking assassin but if barb is like SB whats the diff between barb and assassin?

First of all...I dont believe in the comparison of DAoC and AoC classes, however:

Barbarian is a stealth DPS class with good AE damage.
Assasin is a stealth DPS class with best single target damage.

Barb can be playing as a non stealth dmg dealer tank class perfectly as it has:

- harder armor than assasins (like in DAOC light tank vs assas)
- far more hps than assasins (like in DAOC light tank vs assas)
- access to DW (not limited only to daggers) and feats for dmg output
- access to 2H (splash dmg) and feats for CC (knockbacks/stuns)
- barbs dont have access to poisons or 1vs1 focused feats/abilites as opposed to assasins

There are a lot of things different from DAoC, but imo, the class is far more close to a light tank than to an assasin

Its a lighttank damage and playstyle wise, but has fullblown stealth. Maybe somehow similar to the mercfiltrator builds with access to bigweapons that have AE damage styles.

Nope. Mercfiltrators didnt fit in grps cuz it took too few to pin 'em down and didnt offer anything to a grp besides melee dmg.

Barbs have better armor (in comparision), more hps, do less single target dmg on enemies than assasins but have access to anti-CC and CC feats. Rings a bell?
At the same time, you can play barb as another stealther for sure, its just that you dont need to rely on stealth taht much and also you wont take down enemies 1vs1 as good as assasins.
