Howcome people dont just quit?

was just thinking about this, if people disliek the imbalances, NF, ToA, BB's whatever, why dont you just quit instead of clinging on for a fix? surely you can see that mythic knows why people are leaving the game, and GoA. so why dont you just cancel your subs for a month or two in hope that mythic realise that the games fucked up and if they dont fix anything people wont return? i know theres gunna be "theres no better games on the market" or whatever, well why dont you just quit daoc for a couple of months and go look for them.

to me it seems like people are just clinging on hoping for a fix but since ToA there doesnt appear to have been any fix really so instead of paying goa (and mythic since im guessing they get paid by goa ) in hope of a fix, why not quit and demand a fix? if 10-15k people just stop subscribing for a few months theyll have too see that a fix is needed.

just the ravings of a crazy man but just wondering, why are you still clinging on if you dont like the current state of the game (i know alot of people will still like it etc but for those that atm feel that the games too hard/difficult/boring/grind etc etc )

The truth, the honest truth is that there isn't anything out there that can quite match DAoC's RvR system even with all it's imbalances. Imagine how good this game could be if Mythic took the game engine and started from scratch with classes.

same reason people dont complain when they go out for a meal and the foods shite and when the waiter asks "did you enjoy your meal?" instead of saying " Umm no actually it taisted like i just licked the cat litter tray and then drank some vinegar to wash it down with" they just say "Mm yeah lovely thanks" and leave a fiver tip,

same reason people say "ooh im sorry" when someone walks in to THEM

same reason people dont just say "look i hate you please go away and stop polluting my air space" to that guy/gal at work they just cant stand instead they have to "Be Polite" then moan about them all day to their co workers saying stuff like "cor he/she was bloody talking to me this morning ME! i bloody hate him/her, they smell and they spit when they talk aaaand theyre such a know-it-all!!"


people loooove a good moan and with out daoc to moan about they'd be lost, alone, empty shells with no purpose to their lives and die in their houses whilst eating a sub standard tv dinner (thinking about writing to the manufacturers and giving them a piece of their minds about how crappy the food is) and watching count down, moaning about richard whitelys tie.

For too long i hoped they would some day hire a guy who focusses on how the game is played etc and start fixing and balancing stuff, but unfortunately, that moment never came...

also, people put a load of time in their chars and its only natural they wont abandon it all that soon...

oh well... wows and daocs pvp arent that much different anyway, same concept, wow just doesnt have any keeps (but according to people who can make the most noise here keeps are for roleplayers anyway)

also i agree, the concept of daoc is brilliant however there are issues that MUST be addressed that they mythic are refusing to it seems. if they saw a huge fall in subscriptions they would realise they need to fix it.

Toa isnt that bad yes it has a heavy grind / time factor involved in it, but most mls can be completed within 3 to 4 hours based on how many folk are afk / ld.

IN 1.75 things will get a hell of a lot easier ive heard roumers of peeps being able to run ml raids that take 2 hours for all bg steps. Scrolls will drop from certain mob camps which should make farming slightly less of a chore.

in 1.76 they put in artifact repair which was most peoples main gripe with atlantis.

Ok its still a lot of arsing around to ding 50 then from 50 to do mls 1 to 10 + get your artifacts and template together.

However if you can start your mls early then you can normally ding 50 while completing them. TOA isnt that bad without it i would have stopped playing because i had done everything in si.

Why don't you just accept that people moan and get over it, I mean it's not like we're forcing you to listen, you could just delete FH from your boomarks.

MMPORGS are carefully designed to instil similar addictions to those suffered by heavy gamblers - you need more and more effort/risk to get your fix every time. The company, and the playerbase depend on this powerful type of addiction to survive.

Amusing study of gaming addicts was compared with a survey of various amphetamine users (both in their own rehab types) and the conditions of the test eligibility etc were all the same...Believe it or not the amph users had a quit rate almost double that of the gaming addicts...

Brings a whole new meaning to the "give me a crack please" in /g eh ?

because im saying if people moan why dont they do something collectivly to show that something needs to be done to benefit them/they game, i didnt force you to read the thread, thats why i said i know people like toa but for those that dont it would help if u read what i said u know

i know theres good things about toa, heck im coming back to daoc just to do MLs and get fully ToAd just to play with some fo the stuff, i dont like it but im willing to do it and i see toa as something potentially good but things went overboard (imo the whole 3-4 artis in a temp, hard to farm scrolls, low drop rates, even 3-4 hours for a ML raid is too long not to mention the prereqs and trying to get group steps done etc tho maybe it was just the guild i was in (and hopefully going back to )). i just thinkg if people want it fixed why dont they just take a stand and stick with it, after a few weeks im pretty sure mythic will decide to do what the players feel would benefit the game for once.

Err..... lot of people did quit mate.
Thats why Mythic is now clustering servers.
I take on board your "Quit till Mythic listens" stance but unfortunatly it seems that when Mythic decided to listen......most had quit for good.

most people live in hope that one day mythic will start listening to the people that play the game rather than listening to jumped up little wankers (matt frier) It seems with the latest patch notes they are starting too, shame its too late, i for one still enjoy most of this game and will only still play while i still do.
