How to share some pictures?

I would like to put a folder containing some pictures, into my webspace and for someone else to be able to download the folder and all its contents, by clicking an e-mailed link.

However when I have tried this I either open up a directory of contents with a left click, or if I right click and choose 'save target as' I simply seem to get an HTML document of the directory page and no pics.

Can someone please tell me the correct way to do this?

Thanks

Easy way would be just to make a zip file.;)

Hi schadenfreude

I believe Will's suggestion of a .zip file with all the images contained within is about the best solution. The only snag is that everytime you add an image, you'll have to recreate your .zip file.

Kind Regards

Thanks for those answers.

I am surprised that there is no easy way to do this, but I'll go with the zip thing, though I've never really had a need to do it before.

Will the zip function in XP allow me to create a self extracting file or will I need something else?

Thanks again

I'm pretty sure Winzip allows you to make self-extracting archives. The downer of that is that they are exe files, while some people don't approve of.

or tell the person to use something like getright that can go "depths" into webpages and download everything. Then they can just add to the collection

The folder is about 2Mb, so quite a lot to e-mail, to someone on 56k at least.

They are also not that PC aware so getright probably wouldn't be a good idea.

Thanks for the answers.
