how to play Q3/UT via a proxy server ?

could someone please tell me how to connect to a game server, when you connect to the internet using a proxy server

Right, not being an expert on these kinds of things, I wouldn't go for this word by word,

However, to the best of my knowledge:

the port you need for each server will be blocked out atm
so you need to get the IT op to unblock these ports you need for extended work reserch.

Now, there may be programs out there which can doge out of ports etc or bounce of the main host, but you'll have to find someone in the know to check that

Anyway, hope that gets you started.

Hello,

I have got it working but I had to program my own program to do it. Its down to the way the auth server works. Basically you need to make it look like the proxy computer is trying to auth. I dont wanna say anymore just in case of legal issues (just being safe)

If its a proxy like nitro2 (forwarding mode). Ie you tell quake3 to connect to it then the proxy just forwards the packets then your only bet is to do what I did.
