How to make an obscene amount of XP as lvl 40-45

From the patch notes:

Experience Point Rewards

We have added an experience reward for 2 level ranges outside of the battleground. They are 35 to 40 and 40 to 45. In order to receive the experience reward you must take a merchant keep in an enemy frontier after it has been controled for at least 45 minutes. You must do this once for each level range.

After taking the keep, if you meet the minimum realm points for that level range, you may go to the medal NPC in the capital cities and receive your Medal of Valor.

Minimum Realm Level:
35-40 Realm level 2 rank 0
40-45 Realm level 2 rank 5

Once the medal is in a player's posession, it can be taken to the NPC in the capital cities that accepts the battleground medals. Again, a significant experience reward will be given.

In order to receive the medal and hand the medal in for experience, you must be within the appropriate level range. The medals cannot be saved for use outside of the level ranges listed above, and you can only receive each medal and experience reward only once.

Medal NPCs

Camelot: Commander Kise can be found on the porch of his house by The Mug.

Jordheim: Ostaden who is repairing his equipment at the local smithy.

TirNaNog: Mobryn who resides in a house near the Chamber of Arms.

Battlefield Experience NPCs

Camelot: Sir Dinairak is in the royal library.

Jordheim: Aiesill is in the great hall.

TirNaNog: Rheollyn is in the palace courtyard.


I was level 44,29 when I met the 2nd prerequisite for this quest.
After turning in the medal to Rheollyn I got 7,510,834,766 xp, dinging me straight to 45.:clap: :clap:

Requirement for levels 40-45 is RR 2L5, or 25,375 rp.
It might be an idea to turn in the medal until after you have dinged a full level ( 45 in both your cases).
This quest might give such substantial rewards that it will ding you to the next level no matter what.

You don't need to be in a group.
I was late for the keep take I joined and couldn't join my group because they were in combat. I did some damage to 1 guard and the lord however.
You probably have to be in the vicinity of the keep and be alive at the time the keep is taken, to complete the keep take part.
The vicinity will probably only count if you crossed the line around the keep which says:"You have entered Caer Benowyc"

After the usual "The forces of Hibernia have captured Caer Benowyc" times six spam, I got the message "you have completed the second merchant keep quest".
It might also have said to get the medal now but I can't remember that clearly.
Then I went to the medal guy and found out my Rp's were still too low "You are not experienced enough in the ways of battle"or something.
After I (semi)leeched my way into another 18 k rps, I finally got my medal.

so u can do the "quest" before u have 2L5 (for 40-45 step) but for getting the medal reward from the guy u need to have it then ?

Yep, you can do the merchant keep take at any time between level 40-45.
The medal guy won't give you the medal until you reached RR 2L5.
At this point you still don't get any xp.
So you can wait with turning in the medal until you've just dinged 45 and see how far turning in the medal will get you.

Just did it this morning and, as you can see - it's a free 5 bubs at level 45. :cool:

Nopes. It's worth 7.1 bubs at lvl 44, 5 bubs at lvl 45, etc :D

Donito was just lucky to be precisely 7.1 bubs away from 45 when finishing the quest :)
