how to kill a boney

hi all.

i'm getting fed up of people saying that BDs are impossable to kill solo.

ok i may have got a lvl 48 zerker to 5% while lvl 41, but still during these fights i have learned how to kill the class i play, and the mistakes people do against them.

so hes some points that should aid you in killing a BD:

1. bonedancers are not ur average pet class, going for the caster is the no.1 way to die as he takes a long time to kill with his insta (and if hes dark be extra careful because he gets a nice body debuff). While the commander takes maybe 3 hits to kill.

2. although the boney can chuck out more firepower then a battle tank, he is forced to use baseline + insta (unless very high specced in dark), this makes his mana drain like nothing. So its best NOT to enter combat with him, always try and go for the commander, and don't stop until the commander is dead

3. BDs are differcult to kill solo (unless ur a bolt caster or steather). so the best way to kill one is to confuse the BD. This can be done in 2 ways:

a) Get a sheild tank and a caster (AoE). get the ae to knock out his pets fast, (if u have a snare great) and stun (if ur a hib)/mez (for a sorcerer) the BD. now use the caster to take down the commander (while the tank guards the caster). When this is done make the sheild tank slam the BD, and u have a dead BD.

b) If you don't have a mezzer handy, its more differcult. Get 2 tanks, better make 1 high offensive (LW/pole) and 1 defensive (luri hero/pallys). the offensive tanks job is too kill the commander, while the defensive tanks job is to slam the BD, if u go at the same time the BD does not have any AE spells (except a weak DoT).

4. if you do come across a BD solo, you gonna need to do everything possible to stop him casting his DoT if your caster, or his insta if your a tank.

a) cash up on body/dark/matter resists

b) make sure that u have a heal at the rdy (ip/BP item will do)

c) a DoT proc helps

d) slam is the weapon against BDs, if u have slam, forgot about the commander and slam that boney, the 9 sec stun will do..kill him or the healers quick!

e) if u don't have slam, but instead a high dmging weapon (pole/LW) hit the commander, u should be able to 2 hit him, then go for the caster (you may need to use IP, heros this is a good time to use moose mode! :p)

f) if the boney DoTs you, use purge, it can hurt after a while.

Well, thats my quick guide on how to kill a boney. Ok you may need to use moose/ip/purge/extra resists/faith/nukes/DoT proc/mezzes/slams/stuns to kill 1, but heck...ur kill it! :)

(btw, i know i don't have a lvl 50 boney.....but just try and follow this advice)

best tip of all time however is:

don't try and kill a boney solo! :)

my offer still stands 300 g to any melee class without cc who can kill those i can count to 4 class

Killing the healer pets is generaly faster then killing the commander. They are green con and die in 1 sup nuke. Killed bds once with this.

He must have been afk because like the duel starts now you gotta cast your 3 second nukes faster than he casts his instant :p . Now lets say you start with a qc nearsight then a root get max distance from the BD you could prolly kill both green con pets but root makes you imune to snare so by the time the BD is on you there is no way you coulda killed the BD.

I tryed to kill one with my savage I donno how many times I tryed and lost everyone, I even tryed one without any pets I think it was Kfive and he killed me with 40% hp left. I sat by uppland and watched a level 46 BD kill every class that tryed to beat him for like an hour and no one could. Go for the healer pets by time you killed both your death, try the commander which is quite easy to kill then your dead by the BDs lifetap, go for the BD your just plain dead.

Doesnt a buffed up Troll BD also have like 16xx hp ? :mad:

This is coming from a Mid who have no problem killing most classes as nearly every mid class is overpowered :p

btw, thanes rule!

nuke is great, etc.

(btw, a sheild thane seems good at killing bonedancers for some reason)

Thanes aren't bad class tbh...decent dmg and dmg add hurts when they hit alot :)

they can be killed solo, its just differcult.

might as well wait till at least 2 people comes along and then kill the boney
