How to do a lair list

(requires SI)

Alt-tab to windows..
Create a txt-file.

Write in the top.

POS: NAME: LVL/CLASS: ALTS: COMMENTS:

Then make three lines... like this:

TANKS:

CASTERS:

HEALERS:

then its time to start fill in.. this is an example.

POS: NAME: LVL/CLASS: ALTS: COMMENTS:

TANKS:

1. <Insert name> 45/Warr <insert name> Can bring lv 50 buffbot.
2. <insert name> 46/SB

CASTERS:

1. <Insert name> 50/SM <naaaaaaame> Will bring leech to g2

Healers:
empty!



OK.. and if someone ask for their postition, simply alt+tab out to windows and look.
If you have to leave, and have to leave the list for someone else in the group.. ask him if he has email/irc/icq/msn or whatever.. and send it.

But surely you would spend your entire time tabbing in and out of the game, and miss messages, and get flamed for not adding people to the list when they asked, and get flamed by the group for doing absolutely nothing because you're spending most of your time on notepad and not the game... ?

What about making it a online version? So people could check their spot from the web without being online ingame. Would make it easier for everyone and harder to manipulate with the lists.

Wow, even better I think that is a good idea, it would certainly remove some stress from the LK and would make the list system less corrupt and I think most DAoC players can create their own webiste so it cant be so hard.

Same thing if you write it on paper.. you need to look away from the screen while writing.

But even better is to use Window mode and tab Notepad over 25% of the Daoc screen maybe.. and you can still see the msg from people ingame

mid pry use txt file and to switch list they post it on a webpage new list holder cuts and pastes , so then people in list can visit webpage and have rough idea hwo far they are

ifm you already have a webbie. It might be nice to just make the website the listkeeper? So people just go to the website put themself on the list and the real lk just moderates the list and ask people from it and removes people from the list when needed.

Nice idea, but i think i prefer the classic old skool pen+paper style of list-keeping.

Open notepad:

Organize the text into 4 different lists.

Playing lists.
Only lvl 50 healers and SM's here.

Leecher list.
One leecher for each player (sometimes 2 if needed).

Lootpicker list.
This is the hardest job of the grp. In this list only the very skilled players come. You really need a good LP reputation to get in here.

Charity list.
This is where the chars who just pop in and says GIVF PL TO 50 PLZ goes, the most important thing here is not to touch any mobs or do anything. Talking in cg is ok though

it shouldnt be too hard to make a client based program that parses chatlog sends with a key string and add them to a webpage. This whould also have the "benefit" of making listcheating impossible (except for the server holder ofc ).Who knows, maybe there already is one :/.
