How to distribute drops

This thread was thought of just after the last prince raid.

Since it was an open ended invitation to all, the distribution of drops had to be as random/fair to all.
There where some people who thought my way of doing it was a bit unfair, and some who thought it took to long.

Im going to explain how I did it now, and this is the way I will do it everytime I organize a raid that is open to all.

1. All drops shall be handed to me, or to a person appointed by me. No-one is to shout/yell anything different during the raid, or that/those persons will be excluded from the drop distribution.
Its relatively easy to figure out who got the drops, and who picked them up, so just hand them in and there will be no trouble.

2. When the raid is over, everyone gathers at a place appointed by me. I will make sure everyone has time to get there before we start.

3. I will then check that all items are collected and I will name all drops with full stats.

4. I will then repeat the items in a shorter list so pay attention.

5. Everyone will have 1 "token" to use in bidding on a item. That token will get you in on the lottery/chance to get that item. Even if you dont get it, you cannot compete in anoter lottery unless there are items left when everyone has used there token. (more on this below). You CANNOT compete in a lottery for an item that you cannot use. I dont care if your best friend is a hunter and needs that bow, if you are a warrior, ur not getting in the lottery for a bow!

6. I will announce an item and people can say they want to enter the lottery. When i know how many wishes to participate in a certain items distribution, I will divide 0-99 into as many intervals as there are people. Fx. 4 people wants a hammer, the intervals would be 0-24 25-49 50-74 75-99.

7. each person in turn then picks a interval and I will kill a green/blue mob and pick up the cash it drops. The number of COPPER it drops, decide who gets the item. I will always take a screen shot of this, so anyone not thrusting me to be honest, can contact me for the screenshot.

8. We then move on to the next item in line and repeat the procedure.

9. When all items have been up for distribution once, items that no one wanted first time around can now be bid for again, and everyone (except those who got an item) can now enter the lottery again. (fx. xxxxx entered a lottery for a sword drop, but didnt get it. He then had to sit out the lottery for the chain helmet because he already used his lottery token on the sword. However when every item had been up for crabs once, the bracer that dropped where still not taken, and xxxxx then enters the lottery for that, because he now has a new "token")

I know this takes time, and for that im sorry, but its the fairest way of distributing items as far as I see.

Lvl's does not mean a god damn thing when drops are being distributed. If you where on the raid and did your part, you are elligeble for a drop, short and sweet!

But if this has been a raid per (GUILD INVITE) only those from the invited guilds will be in this lottery. If you tagged along at some point, you will not get any drops, sorry!

Thats all!

Sounds fair to me.
However, what if there is no item you can use?
Will you then not be able to get a token?

Or is there always some item everyone is allowed to chose?

if u kill a prince for exampel atleast 5 things drop, right? so of those 5 things the chance is very slim that u cant use anything of them.
