Maybe talk to the IT staff ?

Trying to install stuff to break security put onto a network is a bad thing.

Ok tears,

Might give it a miss then, don't want to screw anything up, I take it that it isnt as easy as configuring msn or firefox.

thanks for your help

Most school/uni/company proxies are HTTP only, so you won't be able to play DAOC through it.

The only way around would be HTTP-tunneling which basically involves encoding packets as HTTP, routing them through the proxy on to another computer which decodes them and sends them on to their destination, this is generally not allowed for obvious reasons, and you would probably get banned from the network if the admin realised.
