As I said in an earlier thread the water companies have been selling off their assets (including reservoirs to be developed for housing) thus lowering reserves whilst simultaneously yelling about a drought so they can slap mandatory water meters in peoples houses.
For them its a win-win situation - they sell off assets so they can pay the shareholders fat dividends and by lowering supply they'll eventually raise the overall revenue per customer via meters.
And since its a natural monopoly theres no competition - can anyone tell me why we privatised these companies?
