Lamp is a lighting device, including the shaft and shader, bulb is the actual thing that warms and lights an area. And lightbulb would be correct IMO.

Well if you want to be pedantic

Lamp

a: A device that generates light, heat, or therapeutic radiation.

b: A vessel containing oil or alcohol burned through a wick for illumination.

c: A piece of furniture holding one or more electric light bulbs

So therefore a lightbulb is indeed a lamp as it generates light and heat.

Words mean different things to people indeed...

Lamp is the whole unit. Can you have just a lightbulb somewhere? No, you need the whole lamp, with wires and switches and hopefully a shade to direct the light somewhere. Lightbulb falls into a lamp category, but just a lightbulb doesn't make a lamp. IMO. Tho, Im thinking in Finnish. Not in English.
