Happened to me sometimes, I´d luv to know the max range in game term of a scout´s long bow with longest arrows. I couldn´t nearsight a scout, it´s V annoying when the nearsight is supposed to be the range killer... but anyway, plz provide m some number informations.

Btw if the scout´s up hill and I´m on the road, can he shoot me even in 2300 range and being unable to be casted nearsight?

Depends on the bow he's using. I believe a longbow on level ground is 2100 range though. Archers get bonuses and minuses to range on hills. Also it's possible high quality crafted arrows have better range than standard merchant arrows though no one seems sure for certain :p

Player crafted arrows differ in no way from merchant bought. Period. I've heard/read about many tests on this one and all say the same.

They might say the same range, that doesn't mean they are the same range, the difference may be small, but without an actual number/test you can't really tell.

X-long arrows, 2100 in range with all longbows.

As far as i know.

Quality on arrows should mean something, since u can make masterprices of arrows.

Quality on arrows doesn't do ANYTHING else than increase damage, and chance to hit. Range is fixed on level ground no matter what equipment a scout is wearing.

Doesn't matter if he is using a 90% quality Elm longbow or a 100% quality Duskwood Longbow. Arrowtypes do matter, but almost all archers use FFB's (footed flight broadheads) which are X-long range, LONGbow + FFB's = the max range a bow can fire.

Range is only modified if the archer has a height advantage or the opposite.

Arrow quality

Arrow Quality does nothing.....

With 100% Quality player made arrows or 89% Quality merchant bought arrows you will still get the same Damage over time, range, miss and fumble rate. The only difference is that player made arrow’s are cheaper.

What matters is the Bow Quality, its con to you and the Arrow type you use.
1) Bow Quality gives you your effective Dps.
2) Bows give your slightly higher fumble and miss rate if they are orange or red con to you.
3) Arrows have different ranges so use footed for extra range.

As to range different, bows have different ranges. To generalise Small bows have shortest range, Normal bows next longest, and then Great bows have the longest. (Hib Recurve is only experience)

There is a range modifier on Terrain. If you are above a Target (on hill/bank etc) you get better range than if you are below a Target. The higher above the better.
