How long did it take you to reach...

1000 crafting in a tradeskill?

I mean, how long did you just sit there hitting number 7 to make a bow or whatever (best estimates please)

I think I spent about 25 days, including rides to the various places for goods, tasking from 1 to 650, getting assassinated by nasty SBs on the walls of Benowyc and making stuff for customers.

So I got a while to go yet then - still on 562 fletching I think

around 2 month but achievable in a month if you are funded and you have the patience

Depends on the trade as well though. Weaponcrafting is widely regarded as the trade which takes the longest to master, tailoring and fletching are a bit faster and armorcraft is somewhere inbetween I think.

Well, the trade is fletching so hopefully it will be a bit faster than some of the other crafts then.

Took me about an hour and a half to make 16 points last night though - thats a long time to spend just pressing the number 7

Heh, you may be some time getting to 1000, the higher you get, the less frequent raises come it seems to me, or they come in bursts, where you'll get 5 in half an hour, then spend the next hour and a half getting nothing (this is at my level of crafting). I've been doing weaponcrafting on and off since about mid March, early April, still only 890, but then again I have been funding myself, so have had to go make the money to spend it. Still, once you pass the 650 mark and no more consignments, you should see an increase in raises for a while. So stick with it and if you have a nice guild, get them to throw money at you, specially if they have Friars/Minstrels/Scouts and when we get SC casters too, since being able to make top level staves/instruments/bows etc will make you popular with them

Does anyone have a rough estimate of the costs involved in reaching 1000? I heard somewhere that SC would cost something like 17 plat...is this a similar price for the rest?

Hmmmmm i know someone who Power crafted to lvl 600 armourcraft - they didnt sleep for a week.....

Since SC/Alchemy will be done purely on powering I've heard it mentioned that to get past 1000 you will need about 20plat, plus the time involved too

It's a lot cheaper, and faster afaik.
I think I remember somewhere that theres no consignments for alch or sc, but from 500 skill onwards, you actually make money making then selling an item to a merchant.

Can't rmember for sure tho, check US servers
