heh. It's not like their brain keeps them alive anyway. Chickens have to be the dumbest animals around.

there's a slight difference between being born without one and having it forcefully removed along with most of your head :/

Exactly...the poor chicken could have been in complete agony for 18 months with bits of its brain exposed and being fed with the use of a syringe

A mammal would die very quickly but birds are closer to reptiles and have a less 'advanced' nervous system - I dont think they have the same mechanism that in mammals causes system shock from wounds - hopefully it wasnt in pain during all that time - the brain itself has no pain sensing nerves but I bet its neck was sore...
