How has Shrouded Isles been received in the US?

I understand most of what is in Shrouded Isles, but what i'm interested in knowing is what the people who currently have it think of it?

Is the framerate in RvR improved as much as was hinted at?
Are the new areas any good?
Are the new classes worth gimped/overpowered?

I suspect that the keep people playing the new areas contain some excellent 'must have' items and some mobs that give decent xp so that people will go there and get xp instead of DF and the usual spots.

I also suspect that the new classes are slightly overpowered compared to the existing classes to make people start characters with them.

So whats the word on it then?

from the people ive spoken to so far on the US servers.. most love it.. the new areas are really nice and the high lvl dungeons are a real challenge which makes them fun.. and of course the drops you can get are well worth it.. most named mobs drop 100% qual af102 armour or 16.5 dps weapons which are very nice :D all with custon models/effects on the weapons.... only seen one of them ingame so far that was on ghenris.. a 50 thrust minstrel using what looked like a trident that hunters use :D

as for performance.. si think the frame rate with full effects is moderate but not so random.. ie instead of getting 60+ fps in some places and 10 fps in others its more consistant.. ie 20-30 fps all the time

I have the SI and have played a little on the US servers, the graphics engine althought more detailed looked, a little blurry i thought, maybe it was my drivers or something. Apart from that the water was the major change, it looks quite smart but a little out of play compared to the other environment.

The overall performance on my machine AMD Athlon 1900 GF4, 1gig ram was fine, maybe a little slower in the town, but reading from the US sites the performance in RvR is where that major change is, performance there is not meant to slow as much.

New class wise, there are reports on IGN that the bonedancer can take out 3 hibs at once (but take that with a pinch of salt) and that the Necromancer can take out any other class 1v1. So yes it does seem that some of the classes appear that they may currently (subject to some peoples opinion) be a little overpowered)

A great thing for all of us is that SI might introduce a few new people into the game, it will be supplied in europe in either standalone, or with the original game. I cant remember the last time I spoke to someone new to the game.

hehe, yep, about as much as a snowman loves summer. The necromancer can take out a SB easily if spec'd in the right lines (I think death servant & Painworking), a few US sb's cant take the pet down to 50% let alone kill it. (even if they PA & CD)

Then the other new alb class, the reaver has a pulseing damage bubble, that seems to serve 2 purposes, interupt casters and unstealth stealthers.

I dont know about the other realms so much, but it seems at least Albion has a little extra stealther defence now
(which i think is needed tbh)

Descriptions of the spells can be found on the camelotherald... http://www.camelotherald.com/spells/

what you will see there is that most of the new classes have a lot of instant stuff at their hands to spread on their enemies... which is one of the key points why those classes are superiour to others in typical 1vs1 situations...

if you have also a look on their styles which can be found here:

Reaver:
flexible: http://www.camelotherald.com/styles/line.php?line=46

Savage:
H2H: http://www.camelotherald.com/styles/line.php?line=124

Valewalker:
Scythe: http://www.camelotherald.com/styles/line.php?line=125

You will also see here that allthough much more difficult to use most of those styles are by far more superiour then the normal stlyes on the existing weapons.

Here some PvE and RvR experience reports:
