After reading Hawkwind's rant, I thought I'd poll you guys to see how you generally feel about this particular launch. Please note I *will* be passing the results along to my contact at NCSoft/Aion as constructive feedback, so of you can keep it to the bare minimum if you're going to make use of the "other" option I'd be much obliged :)

Please note that I do not play MMORPG games, so of my poll misses an option please use the "other" option to expand your view. Also, the poll is scaled from good/no issues to bad/doesn't work with some general pointers as to what may be your issue, if any.

Thanks!

None :)

Waiting for at least 6 months before I try due to being burnt hard by new MMOs, it is just not worth the hassle.

When you are in game it's lovely and smooth - occasional deaths due to lag spikes when they open up the server caps but not too annoying. The servers themselves run especially well even when there were screens full of afk shops!

However, if I had not used the shop 'feature' I wouldn't have got to play at all during the headstart as I've got to put a 9 month old to bed at 7, first night queue was 4 hours...I've now learned to join queue when I get home from work but not always practical and it's impossible for me to jump in for a quick 30 mins when baby is napping (currently in a 1 hour queue).

All in all though I think it's a good launch - server queues are a pain but they will die down and then there will be nice full servers running a good game smoothly.

I dodged Spatalos and ended up on a great server, w/ very low queues and a large english population and I think no russian zerg guilds :p Although there are some hardcore asmo guys ganking in the abyss ( some lvl 35.... yesterday....wtffffff ).

I do wonder how long the game will keep the more casual players though given its grindy style post 25. I think there needs to be a bunch more instances at 25 rather than just the one. ( I know there are more later but still ).

Other than the occasional lag and queues, everything is fine. Best MMO launch I have participated in.

The game itself is very good imo. Everyone I know is having fun (although we are only in the level 10-30 range atm). The client is stable, the animations feel polished and it all looks really nice :)

The only problem is the server queues and occasional server wide lag spikes that happen in the evening. I'm sure these issues will be sorted however and we will be left with a cracking game :)

I experience a lot of mini-rubberbanding as the client and server get out of sync. Its not crippling but its not a great sign when the servers quiet and its still rubberbanding.

Still it seems a good game so far but endgame will be the decider - nice buzz so far though :)

The queues are a PITA - some of my guildies start the log in process at around 5.30 - 6.00pm when they come home from work and still cannot log into game until around after 9 ish.
Lag is somewhat a lesser issue, rubber-banding is evil, bouncing back into the mob you are trying to run away from is irritating to say the least. The recent "server seizure" we experienced on Spatalos this evening (29th Sept) was bad as some people could not interact with npcs, mobs were not respawning and their corpses stayed around. I tried to do a ticket on the issue but after carefully typing in all the details I got a message that I could not submit a ticket between the hours of "whatever". :twak:

Queues are a pain. NCsoft have taken steps to resolve it, but the majority of the players still seem to queue up and bitch about it, than start again on one of the, now 2, new English servers, that have not had any queues! I've started a new alt on one of the new ones, so at least I can play now. Not sure if my mates are going to do the same though, or if I'm going to end up on my own out there.

I did the same rolled Ely on new server, but really is that fixing the issue. What they should have done is open new servers and allow char copy or account move to it. I have 3 lvl 16-21 Esmo chars on that server.

waiting 3+ hours with queues of nearly 3k players to login prime time on spartalos is a joke. Give another server and allow chars to be moved!

They've said they're working on character transfers, but it's not ready yet. When they implement it, they'll allow everyone to transfer around for free to start with, then I'd guess start charging for the service once the populations are balanced out properly.
