keyloggers at getting through a properly setup firewall? been neglecting my adaware scans for a few weeks and found one today when i scanned. been looking through my firewalls settings and what program had access to the internet but couldent see anything that had access that shouldent have it.

been going through all my accounts ive been using the last couple of weeks but cant see anything that suggest someone has been using any of them. changing all my PW's either way but was just curious...

funny thing is that i have no idea how i could have gotten "infected" i never ever open any emails with attachement in them even if they are from my friends and family (always ask before i open them).

and i cant say ive been at any suspicious websites either.

Depends on the keylogger and on the firewall.

If your firewall blocks applications accessing the internet (like the built in XP one) chances are you should be ok as you would have seen the messages thrown up.

If your firewall only blocks ports then you may be out of luck, some keyloggers just send the results over to an IRC room, or even worse as an email - so if your firewall allows you to send out emails then this could have got out.

using both XP built in and Sygate firewall, i paid for it just so i could get everything they had to offer so its not the free version.

Aslong as you keep your system updated, with a good firewall, adspotter and antivirus then you should be fine

H@tKeysH@@k gets bundled with some cracked games and has a semi-legitimate use, could be where u got it from.

If your firewall caught it trying to send the info out, you're probably ok. It's one of the commonest ways of finding keyloggers. Always investigate unknown programs trying to access the net !
