How fking hard is it to get a decent group !?

Im a lvl 38 full specced Mana Eld, and Ive spent the last week sat in/out of CM and Innis, flagging , looking for group...
The only xp ive gained is by hunting Silverhands with my high lvl guild mates after they finished in EZ/CF..

Ive sat and searched for hours trying to make a group to goto the pit in CM.. result being either they are too low and cant hit the damn things or none of that class online.

I gave up on CM and waited in Innis to maybe get a group killing Azures, only due to an old friend of mine have I been to Azures twice, both times ending quickly cos some1 had to go when we got there (typical)

Can someone tell me what im doing wrong and why I cant find a sodding group ?! Its starting to irritate me now and im contemplating deleting my Eld and moving to Alb/Mid.

Well, don't forget about the once that is /anon, thats pretty many soimetimes.

Imo the best way to get group (the way I use) is to build up a friends list of different stabile nice users of different classes that is needed for a good gorup, and then you can start a gorup you're self too you know. Just use the /who command. You are a pbaoer, so you should much easier get group than anyone else. Just type /who hero 36 42 and /who bard 35 42 etc and PM the peeps you need in you're group. Do this eatch time you don't have a group, and you find out who is nice to team with and who is not, and add to friends list. Repete this a week or so and you should not having probs with group anymore.

for high 30s, and low 40s

you should first figure what you wanna kill
so say, azures

so you want a warden, bunch of tanks, druid and whatever else, but the tanks should be of a decent level so they can keep taunt high, and warden so the bubble doesnt break all the time

so, then you do /who hero 40 45
message those people, unless they are in sheeroe, or bog or something, usually that means they are grouped

etc etc
send tells to everyone that fits your requirement, and when you talk to them, say

'wanna join an azures group mate? pbae'

(if they do good in the group, you might want to consider adding to friends list)

once you start getting people who want to go with you to where you wanna go, open a /cg, but DO NOT tell them to go to the meeting point yet.. wait until you have at least 6 or 7, that way, people can keep doing what they are doing, while the group is forming, so they dont get pissed off and leave

when you have 6 or 7, then go to the meeting place, and when you try to find the final members of group, say that you are ready to go to them, so they know they dont have to wait

Yeh I kinda know how that is , since lvled about 3 peeps to around lvl 40, and many friends only lvled one. But if you ask nicely, maybe some of you're 50 m8s wanna help PL you some

Last dayes the Fins in CF have been costantly camped by several peeps, so might work to just go there, and ask if any room. Also works ok with 2 gorups there. I'm planned to ding 50 on those dam fins hehe

Well azures isn't only hunting spot by far. At you're lvl you can hunt like: Pookas, bears, BWs, siabs, CM, Dullahs, far darrigs....and prolly some other stuff I forgot. So just gather a group in Innis and you can hunt the easy once (far darrigs and dullahs) night/day if you don't get full gorup at once. Lotsa nice stuff wating for you're pbaoe out there m8y

Things could be worse, u could be a void eld.
I had trouble with grps about your lvl but i grped with a lot of guildmates (majority of who were lower lvl) for pretty bad xp but the fact they were all guildmates and we had a good laugh whilst doin made my bar seem to go a it faster and eventually after many of these sessions i was lvl 40. At 40 i started goin to innis and, wahay, i now get grps. But... bcos i'm not a pbaoer i don't get in the mega xp pbaoe grps. Last few grps i've had we've done pooks, bears, BW's and attempted to get to azures twice both times wipin after only about 2 pulls. So the xp i get atm is terrible, i was xpin for 6 hours today and only got just over a bub of xp.
After ages of complainin and gettin worked up about not gettin grps, now that i finally get em i'm begginin to think i'm better off solo. Compare xp, bear gives about 6-7 mill once camp is gone, pooks a bit more. In 2 bolts and 1-3 dds i can drop a greenbark for 12+ mill. These i can do at about the same speed as we were killin stuff in grps but there is the added risk and every so often i have to rest to regen without the aid of mana regen like i would probably have in grps.
Anyway, look on the bright side m8, once u get to 40 u'll be on the easy (ish) road to 50. U just have to persevere through those last two lvls.
Me? well it's just aswell i have my bard to play with in the bg's to break up the tedium of tryin to solo my last 9 lvls.

look on the bright side, least u aint neglected by groups

and yes xan, get a lvl or 2 and every 1 will want u in your group...PBAOE rocks.

i also think the freinds list is a good idea but being a shade im not on ppl's friends list for xp groups, im just there cos im a great bloke ( still dont get groups though, )

Well i love my void eld.. lvl 36 I do serious damage but I agree some classes are under estimated.. NS and Elds off top of me heed.. I find it hard 2 get grps and therefore have been lvling a champ alt.. 5 or 6 lvls this week..

Guild mates either in 40's and not grping or early 20's and out of reach.. I hear a song.."Stuck in the middle with U.. Clowns to the left of me jokers to the rite HERE I AM stuck in the middle with U!" LMAO!!

BWs outside alia binn is a good place to exp with low 37-42 pbaoe groups then you might consider the banshees just outside the same nere the guard tower a bit towards siopa these have 4 diff camp bonuses and are good exp for 42-46 they are high lvl but has low hps

Lemme c xanthian (btw wot lvl was ur mage in MIR)

40- Glimmers, those at first turn spot near azures, they con yellow-orange-red even prps at that lvl, and it´s easily done with tanks at lvl 40+, I´ve lvled a lvl in 2-3 hours from 39 to 40. Some ok drops to tanks at that lvl there. Easy access, fast camp bonus, LOAD of mobs (once killed 11 there in a pull) bring 2 pbaoers, 2 > 1, and 1 underattack != group died or long downtime if u have 2 pbaoers.

40+ start with azures coz u´ll need that glove! And remember to have 2 pbaoers in ur group, if the group´s got only 1 pbaoer, consider mez 1 or 2 (if 4 came) be4 pbaoe, consider too tanks lvl, just about 45 is perfect, though the xp might be slower 4 em, they rely on ya to do dmg. Azures r easy if u got a reliable group, and the drop´s quite good too ^_^

42+ banshees, a must have is 39 pbaoe, that baby hurts BIG time on those (be4 patch due to cold dmg) and as well BWs, both at bog and near alainn (hell never spelt that well!) Both does DDs, but BWs r harder to gather together though easier kill and therefor easier xp 4 1 pbaoe group, 2 pbaoers = banshees, have a DRUID (u WILL need that insta, unless ur healer´s god like) 1 warden and 2 tanks and 2 pbaoers, 1 mana battery and one support slot to lvl any1 u wish, personally 1 more tank helps hugely, but we rn´t mean to be selfish ^_-

Passed 45, well... if u can´t find a group, groups can find ya, even on anon they find u, personal xp here hehehe... Best spot fins, be first at there and get 1 bubble of xp in less than 30 min due to big camp bonus there, hands down, u won´t have any better spot to lvl beside fins at that lvl, nor warshade nor CF, having a BIG queue of ppl waiting is better to have "oops gotta go" pop up and need suicide/waste LOAD of time getting out.

48+ IF u have lvl 48 pbaoe at lvl 48, gratz, u r a god of pbaoer (well not as god as chanters, but anyway) u can do several things at ur choice, fins as usual (some of em red but still steady xp than anything else) OR u can do mighty glimmer knight nightwatchers, 2 bubbles in 1 hour, with 2-3 pbaoer (2 if group´s got good enough tanks who knows shoot those DDing mobs, 3 if got more wardens who tend to miss more) and ur xp literally FLIES! Beside, drops there r sooooooo good (warshade staff any1? ^_^) At that lvl u´ll have /friend list full (I´ve got it since lvl 20 >.<) and pick RELIABLE ppl, and ask their time, never go there with less than 5 hours, if u got less time, do fins. Since patch it´s REALLY hard to organize 2 groups since xp gain changed and no longer best xp 4 2 groups killing 10+ glimmers...

Some interesting alternative: well... if u keen on xp and fun, go kill epic mobs and sibby queen, a good xperience and sure funny thing to do, well sibby queen´s better to lvl, but juggy in CF is sooo ugly hehe

About picking ppl, read above, their advice´s V good. If sb want group, he won´t on anon. And if u need to wait, do sth while waiting, craft, solo, group kill dullahans or bears/pooks, anything but don´t stand idle, I´ve passed 5 hours LFG in innis, that´s sure terrible when u got 6-7 ppl and find NO wardens at all

Thing to do when start a group: check friend list, check warden list (yes warden be4 all, they r fewer than pbaoers!) and pick one, u can hardly do any DD mob without warden (xtra dmg due to DD does improve downtime and rez times) and having more than one never hurts.
Secondly, pick TANKS, they r few, and find a missing tank (shyann went LD and couldn´t come back due to RL stuff) cost me once 2 hours with a 7 ppl group in EZ killing green/blues and finnaly disbanded, find reliable shield tanks, and u´ll got a good group 4 life!
Third, time to find a good healer, druids of course, ask their regrowth lvl and pick wisely.
Forth, another pbaoer or VOID eldritch (if u can´t find another pbaoer, if he´s a mate need lvl etc) if 1.49 change our dmg type to ENERGY, with cold debuff highest lvl I do 975 period on any fin, that´s not crit btw.
Fifth, a bard/mentalist 4 mana battery, bards r good to EZ group or where need movement and some times an AE mez, mentalists r good at fin spot since they got mana regen 4 faster and prolly mana regen 5 if stars shine on ya A mana/mentalism mentalist can have 400 hp heal a pop, that´s HUGE (ask a warden/bard), and with QC+heal they can do V well even as a main healer with a solid group, though so far I´ve only find ONE of em, and he did R well job, having huge mana poor and mana regen with v good heal is a godly group support char ^_^
Last, pick who ever u feel in need of lvl or another tank and way ya go, move till kill spot and have fun, xp bar moving and constantly "gratz" will make every1 happy

Well... huge post... life of a pbaoer is boring, move with arrow button and pbaoe with 1 button, but ppl luv ya, and when u pbaoe defend lord room u´ll feel V V good to c how many invaders u can kill and having a big laugh (mana eldritch´s well around but lack a bit in pbaoe speed, mana chanters... well... ya know they r god with inc patch, try to find an enchantment chanter I bet my money on that ) ^_^

After the latest patch void eldr has been made a bit more good for groups, cause of theire resist debuffs. If you got one pbaoer and one void eldr thats perfect. void eldr can energy debuff (or whatever pbaoe is) so pbaoe resist less and they can also do pretty deacent damage with the void pbaoe.

/edit hehe just come to think about void is "good" to pull with too, remember Wryce pulled fins with void AOE, LMAO was fun

About funny things... when sb go DL or r/c in fins, we run behind the tree, leaving pets around his spawn spot, and hind us all. When he appears, we /y invaders, help and /y, and then release our pet, that makes wonders... poor who ever suffered from it, the best to use r those enchanter pets, when they die they make luvly songs hahahah

@Takahome: Plz don't tell a lightchanter, that life of a pbaoe'r is boring .... some1, who has to solo 10-15 min to get 1% of exp, because no group wants him (and soloing darrigs/leps/bears for more than 30 min is REALLY boring)

I'd be really happy if u could throw some PBAOE's (even the lvl 26 pbaoe hurts a bit) at some mobs ..... but well, i never get the chance

Lvl 50 ... here i come (in a few month maybe, if i can solo my 1 or 2% per day)

Well I mean I´ve got 2 things to do in the group beside chit chatting

A light enchanter´s life´s V hard, tbh, do as my friend Anno, spec 26 mana ASAP and ur life will be MUCH easier. Though ur pbaoe won´t hurt that much, but it´s pbaoe nonetheless.

Btw 45/26/rest over is a damn hell god like 1 vs 1 template, don´t complain

Btw a tip, duo with a high nuture druid (30+) and ur pet will be GOD, serious, that makes soloing quite better. I did it with sua (full mana spec with low enchant) and druidna (35+ nuture) with druidna lvl 46 and sua lvl 49, duoing red, orange pooks.

I´ve just checked daoc.catacomb, if u manage to find any druid with 31+ nuture, even at lower lvl, u r set, 31 int buff and 30 melee speed buff coupled with ur enchantment buff (well... a bit u have I assume) and druid´s golden buff, baseline buff, ur pet will be UBER, I mean really uber! Sua´s pet got about 1600+ hp while full buffed by druidna and that´s with a pet lvl 42 only, not many tank got that much hp. Try it, it´s V funny and lower lvl druid will got cap xp always while ur life´s much easy since u got who to rez ya (hopeful not), who to buff ya, and who to heal ya pet ^_-

Last and not least, duo is much easier to set then a full group, and chain killing oranges/reds the xp isn´t that bad, duo makes life much bearable that ya lvl ^_- (oh I´ve soloed at lvl 49 with Sua, it´s hell without chat and druidna)

Hope that helps, try duoing more often if u can´t find a full group or u got no time, xp MIGHT be less (if done well no), but the life´s whol e much more interesting! Duoing a NS with a ranger, and it´s R funny!

Taking my Mana to 26 was first thing i did when i reach high 3X/low 4X ... my current spe is 40L/26M/13E. But still that's not enough for most groups, although i did well i a glimmer knights group with another full specced Manachanter (lvl26 pb hit them for about 200-300 ... dunno what the highest pb does).

Maybe i'll try to duo sometimes ... an uber pet sounds fun I just have the habbit to change mobs alot (darrigs/dullas in innis, leps and bears in CF), because i get bored so fast (has nothing to do with camp-bonus)

Try it, it works v well, and being able to chat is a much important factor since otherwise it´s V V boring, try it, ur pet will be UBER garanteed ^_-

26 mana´s quite fine if nobody can find any pbaoer, make sure u r the support pbaoer and that´s all u need, having more than 1 pbaoer´s use is mainly doing dmg while one of em is underattack and hope u grab aggro or kill the mobs, with 26 pbaoe the dmg isn´t that high but not other spell will outdmg ya in 2 sec 4 sure.

Try different things, might well lose some time, but fun is wot the game is based, GL ^_^

600+ well placed pbaoe is wot I do, and wot a lvl 48 pbaoe does (just in case u wonder)

well, i can only say that the /b is _WRONG_ command to use..
here is how i get groups all the time, first i start with /gu <blah blah blah> and if they not respond i asking em for joining me to somewhere.. usually i get 1 or 2 ppl to join me ( yes i know.. im a bard and lvl 41.almost5 ) but that shouldent make any diffrence. Then if i cant get the guilds attention at all ( can happen sometimes ) ill do a /who 40 50 and see if there is more that one player in i.e Bog of Cullen and if there is, ill ask one of em if they got a group.. there is also the /who <area> ( usually /who Bre ( brefine), /who Cullen ( Bog of Cullen ) and /who Gur ( lough Gur, in case there is a bunch of ppl in innis )))) and asking for a group.. but the problem with that is that there can be a S*** load of low lvls around and then you cant see the whole list.
