You have to srart your own server (always in multiplayer options). Then just limit the server to two :). Find the server information in the "find LAN games" section - i.e. the IP address and then tell your friend to join it.

Need cable/adsl or better really as the server.

For two players only, even a 56kbs does the job... That is if the other guy stands a 200ms ping. ISDN is perfect for 2 players. :)

happy fraggin'

Daytrader, it's really very simple to setup a multiplayer game in UT

1st-> Open a DOS Window, type IPCONFIG, write down your IP

2nd-> Open UT, choose menu MULTIPLAYER->START NEW MULTIPLAYER GAME. Then, choose whatever options you would to see in your game (e.g. weapons, bots, maps, etc). Choose START after all options made.

3rd-> Tell your mate your IP. The default port is 7777, but you don't have to worry about that

4th-> Have fun and frag your m8's ass :)

Morpheus, calm down... take some blue pills :p

Daytrader - don't worry about Morpheus, don't know what he's trying to achieve but if you mail me, borg@barrysworld.com, with details of your problem and what you've tried so far I'll glady help out.

Jace,

I dunno if you've noticed, but daytrader spammed just about every single main topic with his problem. I and a few others are answering his question in detail in the help forum, why not pop over there and help us out?

I'll stick to this one here (too much work finding another forum).

daytrader you have to "open location" and type in the IP address there. Remember to enter the port number :7777

:)

ninja, no need to write down ip:7777, since 7777 is the default port, f00l! :)

How's grass growing at Uni? :p

Well you never know... :)

Uni's fine. Managed to get my ISP working for free now :). Gotta try getting my second phone line going for that multilink. Any added pings will help :)

Gonna have to start working harder though. Damn uni people giving me work when I should be in bed or playing UT (or drinking ;))
