How do you make player names go under the crosshair?

Please help. On an old install of half-life I was able to have the name of the player who I had in my sights appear under the crosshair instead of down the bottom left. Now I've installed Half-life again (im a fool to have un-installed it) I cant remember how I did it and I cant find any settings in the menus.

I think there is an option in configuration.
Centre HUD or something similar,
