How do you make links in signatures without the 300 limit error message?

Hi all

I've been trying to change my sig to a few links with useful stuff like VF and a few other people have. I PM'd Vodka and he said he fluked it ^^
I keep hitting a 300 char limit / error, is there a certain order I should be doing it in?

I've seen a few people (Mikke?) with links and long sigs, how do you do them without hitting the 300 char limit?

Any help appreciated.

If you mark a word that you want linked, the word will become the name
example:
Hi
that looks like loads of characters now, but should only be counted as 2 when I press submit... I think ;p
