How Do The Admins Feel?

Just wondering how you guys feel when someone comes into IRC to fetch you because they think someone is cheating, I don't fetch admins very often, but I did last week and thankfully the suss guy was infact a member of a well known clan under an alias. What I mean is, when someone fetch's you and the person isn't actually cheating, just very good.

We were on a server last night and one of our clan members fetched an admin because(and trust me on this)someone was very suss, then when the admin came(argh, cheers matey), they stopped what they were doing, hence looking like a non-cheating player, I just feel stupid bothering you then being made to look an idiot by the person I fetched you for, bah it's early and I'm rambling

I'll back Tremor on this. The gentlemen in question was more than suspect, but when I managed to rejoin (always the problem nipping off to IRC) he was back to being a regular player. Just for the record he shot up to 31-2 and the proceeded to play normally once the nice guy from BW turned up. Do you guys keep and eye on suspect won IDs? Do bans on other BW servers translate to all BW servers?

The great thing was the admin was there quickly and then proceeded to 'own' the game (in a Jobbie-esque legitamate fashion!).

Yep he is a top player and its nice to see admin's playing regular(other than lovely Jobs), hmmm maybe we need admins for the "good" admins

I play very regularly just I change aliases a lot so noone knows its me, aargh/jobbie use their normal names so most people can figure they are the renound bw admins who go by those names, and thus they adjust their play....

When I see a request for help the first thing I have to do is usually ask what server, the name of the suspect, the persons wonid. Then I have to give a masterclass in how to get wonids and such. Finally I might get in the server and the guy probably leaves or doesnt leave enough evidence for me to catch him.

Usually what happens is someone changes their name to admin_needed, an awful bycs habit, or abuses the cheater, telling them what they think and how an admins on the way. Neither of these things is productive in catching a cheat.

Don't forget once the admin arrives, a gang of players following the suspect, knifing and shooting him, typing madly "KICK HIM FFS!!!1!!22!!!"

There is a guy doing a Round at the Moment, called "v701", ive played with him about 2/3 times..

Once on the FF Server, where he TKed everyone but me (Mainly because i ran away before the bastard could catch me), i couldnt get an Admin coz i didnt have IRC installed but he eventually got kicked.

Then last night on Oilrig, the bastard come back on, using a Wallhack, i went to IRC but no admin/s answered so i just left the server

Thats happened to me too Im afraid. However when i do try to get an admin, I alt tab out the the game and dash into bwadmins, just say the server number, the bloke who's suss, and could someone take a look please.
Then Im back in the game, the bloke dont know I went to get an admin, and I can get killed again

aye, Alt Tab is the way, but you have to be very very quick otherwise you Time out.. which is a bit of a sod

... also if your setup like me on XP and stuff, I lose the sound on the game and have to log out to log in again thus giving all the ASE users to jump in! Heard a rumour that IRC will be in the next (or CZ) update which would be great. BWAdmins beware of an increase in workload!

Press ESC while in Game, so it goes to the Main Menu, then Press the "Windows Key" on your Keyboard, press ESC again then Resume Game, your Sound shall return

Windows key gets me out back to desktop immediately, then i got just long enough to fire up irc, go into room, moan and grizzle, (sorry , report cheater ) then get back in time to be knifed

The one's I've been in contact with seem decent lads to be quite honest, it must piss em off sometimes, after all they don't get paid.

I see what you mean, although earlier John I went to get an admin, and they were all AFK. Guess it would piss me off if once somebody playing started to win, someone ran to me to check up on them, only to find them "semi" good

I've played that v701, tbh he was playing a bit pants when i was playing him.
Oh well.
People using wallhacks and the like doesnt mean they are good, its only when a good player starts cheating that they can rack up such amazing scores.
Imho if someone can get over a 10:1 ratio on a BW/Jolt srv they are cheating, unless the enemy team is seriously wank.

tbh i find the barry servers about the best for non cheaters and the standard of the players is pretty good too,ive played on wp,and uk2,and tbh they suck as servers,full of cheaters and no fucking admins.at least we are pretty well policed.

Got to totally agree with you there scooby dooby d00000, BW have gone from having a bad rep to being the best around, so I guess the admins are doing something right. We definately need an admin for Jobbie though, he was on a rampage last night

10:1 is easy, hell even I can do that, all you need is a good pistol round then a good second and maybe third round while you have more resources than the enemy. Actuall good players can do that kind of ration without blinking.
