How do autotarget work?

Why don't it always autotarget when someone shot at me?

Does it have anything to to with I'm running at the moment I'm being shot or maybe the range?

I'm guessing this happens to your RM, it happens to me all the time, it's the one thing that makes me eat grass to archers more than anything else. The problem is that when an arrow hits your BT you don't get autotarget. This is a known bug and Mythic is reportedly "looking into it"..

If you have something targetted, for instance a gate, when someone attacks you autotargetting wont do anything.

Type /macro face /face and insert the icon on your quick bar. I am sure this is what you mean. If you are being sniped, initiate this command you will automatically face the enemy firing at you.

not if it doesnt target the one shooting at u..
ive had this problem too with archers not getting targeted when shooting into my BT (with runie) even though ive got nothing else targeted.. sometimes it gets autotargeted even when BT stops the arrow.. sometimes not
