how cool would a new server be???

i was thinking, as an ex daoc player who came into the game quite late on and could never catch up the peps who have been on since the begining, how about a new server where everyone can start from afresh?
this way everyone, including noobs would be on a level playing field (apart from hibs who are so overpowered its unreal, lol)

how long did it take people to hit 50 on camlann?

sure, you'd have an even playing field for about 4 days

If you dont got /level commando i dont see it as an "even" levling grind tbh

These days, you're looking at a full 48 hours max before lvl50s started appearing. This assumes no previous level 50s to help with high level buffs etc. With that, its less than 24 hours.

Mythic are addressing the issue partially with free levels and better camp bonus and so forth, not sure how that pans out as we don't have it yet

The server would have less population than Prydwen atm.. so tbh I can't see a reason for a new english server until both prydwen and excalibur hits 2500-3000 in "primetime".

not. if english players ever get the chance to get a new server (which ofc wont happen probably), it must be a regular RvsR server so everyone could play the 3rd realm without a new account / "log m8's char" - in an ENGLISH enviroment. It was the biggest mistake ever to make german/french language based servers tbh... most of the ger - french doods can handle basic english pretty much and there is the chance to make nationality baised server.

Alot my guild are european based, and they speak better english than brits do :worthy:

bad idea tbh i like the cosmapolitan idea of meeting peeps from different countries online, certainly more interesting being from Denmark rather ran Dagenham

ok u do get some peeps who cannot speak english, but so long as you can follow instruction u should have no problem ( i.e. competant players dont have to keep telling each other what to do - eventually )

If they put a little effort into marketing they could fill 3 english server`s without breaking sweat.

1 TOA/RvR/NF video primetime on skyone with details on where to buy/download the game and OMG we need to make more games we`ve sold out

I really don`t understand why GOA are so happy to sit back when they could double their market share in MMORPG`s overnight instead of watching their dwindling playerbase just drift away

I agree with this.. which is a point many ppl have made.. why wont GOA advertise DAoC in the UK. Mythic are still advertising DAoC in teh US.. so why dont we get it in the UK I would love to see new ppl entering the game filling spots where old member have left there game.

its because they are french..

hehe jokeing aside you do get the odd bit of advertisment in Pc Gammer and few other mags but most people dont bother reading right throw them anyway.. i agree that GoA should pull there fingure out of there behind and put a few adverst on some sort of watched tv station.... Awile ago they hade a bit about daoc on gamesvile a game show on sky one.. but there review of it wasent great as they didnt know what they were talking about and only showd like a level 7 lurkieen haha didnt show any good rvr or anything like that.

Planetside have a pretty ok:ish deal on low/high pop empires.. they get a xx% hitpoint bonus/penalty calculated on population.. nothing huge but it DOES help if ur on the low pop side... and they also get a XP bonus/penalty

so if this would be in DAoC it would have been RP bonus/penalty insted of xp...

i pity those who start afresh.

When i tarted i knew jackshit and his auntie, deepshit.

Started as skald, played with som friends one played Healer one zerker and one hunter.

At that time the game was quite fresh, infact just released.
There was plenty of people to lvl with, i could get a grp in gna faste where we hunted Mora Dancers and arakites. i could get a grp in skona ravine. there were exp grps everywhere.

And i was having fun exping.

I finally reached lvl50 after some gung ho exping, melee style in malmohus. this was pre SM having PBAOE it also was PRE end regen.

But still it was never a problem to get exp grp. there were always plenty of newbies.

The state now, having experimented by creating a new char.
Is.. in midgard the only place people "really" exp:s at low lvls is vendo caverns just so they can hit lvl24 and go BG1.
the 10% that goes past that tries to get powerlvled just so they can hit 50 where the real strife begins.
lvling to 50 is the easy part, getting artifacts and lvling them is the hard part.

Then comes the biggest challenge of all, getting a RvR grp ^^.

Mythic have by design made getting new customers staying a adventure in its own.

i have some ideas though.

USE the newbie guilds, dont quit them when creating a new char, use them as PVE guilds to get grps, or join a PVE guild. Very very few RvR active guilds can also support lowbies who strife with pve at the same time.

This is the way i see that we got to solve this in the future.

in nf the population thing is worked on a bit.. under populated realmes get more rps/exp and they get a free level evry 2 days i think it was so they can level quicker. just a shame that goa will never listen to us about a 3rd server tho.

Would prefer a home invasion server if we did get one but i think it would dilute the populations on the Pryd and Excal servers regardless of what server type it was. Not enough players basically.

Don't know about others but free exp feels like crap. I want to earn what i have. In anything.


Except the national lottery, i'd take one of those.
