How are Wardens now?

I quit about 9 months ago but am coming back in a week or so and was going to start a Warden as a new pet project. I heard on some boards that they are now gimped due to super fast melee speed, bubble sometimes not working, duel wielding and themselves not exactly bring much to the group heals or damage wise.

Would it be worth rolling a Warden or will I find myself more retarded than a ranger...

PS: What class/class spec is most lacking?

But saving luris is not a worthwhile role, the little vermin breed. And some of them grow up to be (ughhh) luri heros!!

not worth rolling a warden imo.

Dont bother using mine much, all they good for is pbt. They dont do much melee dmg and they aint the best healers. They are back up healers thats about it.

Unfortunately!

I lub my warden.

Works really well in caster-groups as melee-wardens and in tank-groups as backuphealers.

Im melee-specced and love it, running around just whacking up support. It's not like i kill lots of em but i keep em busy till the casters can take care of em :)

A well played warden who can utilise their skills and choose when to fight, when to heal and when to switch between various modes of play is a top asset for any group.

Twisting and selecting chants, rezzing effectively (so the rezzed person isnt going to get ganked immediately for example), knowing what heal to use, knowing when to spam group heal or throw in a melee style to get a tank off your druid is why wardens are superb in rvr IF they are played to their strengths at the appropriate times.

Simply sticking on pbt and spamming group heal IS NOT how to play a warden, neither is /stick /assist MA for the whole run.

Get high ML and you increase your utility more than some other classes due to the nature of wardens passive skills (Example...Battlemaster wardens dont frontload dmg but go for pure speed cap, hit fast and get effects off fast, sapping strike spam from a warden will nullify any end regen an enemy tank will have, especially LW users and shield slammers....warden is also a great rambot due to our self- end-redux buff and ability to self-end chant combines with self-cast attack speed buff).

Artifacts also improve the warden along with the cap increases you can customise your warden to improve the aspects you specialise in.

In short, warden isnt for those who want dm spam or instant gratification from their rvr, they are a hard class to play well and an easy class to play poorly and many is the time you'll wanna reroll summit else (all wardens go through this "Heal-envy" or "Dmg-envy" once in a while) that can "pwn".

Lots of other rantage in my head atm, but im way too stoned to carry on, hope this helps :)

wardens are a great class, little bits from all worlds and ofc PBT, the red resists are all based towards crowd control effects so they work very well specially with det tanks in the group, the only real failing for a warden is that they dont excell at everything, but then again if they did why would u have another class in the group?

Tallen said it all really and depending on if you go perfector or battlemaster you have a more effective healer (even more so with artifacts) or someone who can defend the bard/druid/casters with bodyguard in the battlemaster line

its nice to see all the wardens sticking up for there class(those that know how to use them) i went through can't hit can't heal phase but realised what they are good for try looking on the positives and forget you ain't a uber tank and you ain't a uber healer and you have a very solid class (not got toa yet so will be getting battlemaster when that is inc) and you got the best "passive" class in the game

if wardens had more dmg dealing capacity then we wouldnt need the other tanks.. i mean pbt, self end, heal, rez, buffs... wardens have a role just like other classes, and its not the role of a hero

i like my warden, my attack speed is capped due to highest haste, and a fast sword, so i just wack the healers in rvr to disrupt, while the assist train does the killing, its actually an inportant role and when i need to heal i can, for 615 every time, and thats without a crit, altho i will respec down a bit on heals and go a little more wep for wepskill so i hit more often and parry more etc :)

Warden in grp ?
I got regrowth spec caus melee spec aint good for warden ;p
42regrowth etc ..
With that spec I heal for like 700+- (25% better heals) and with capped dex (320[BB boofs] + 25% cast speed) I can heal pretty fast .. so warden is a good "backup" healer in grp.
Also pbt helps a lot and damage add aint bad.
Then wardens are good interrupters. With 10+17 in blades, I dont do much damage (50-150 depens what armor enemy is wearing and 4.1 spd SoK), but sticking healer and just using taunt style or ML styles like mana drain etc is najs. Wardens also got self boof, that is reducing end usage per style. So u dont run out of end fast and can stick assist trains and spam end leech or stick pbaoe box and use mana leech.
Also uber thingy is bodyguard and grapple. Grapple theyr MA and they QQ for some time =)

Anyway if u need to know smth, ask here ;]

i went the perfector line, as we dont have a cure disease as warden, so with perfector u get a group cure disease, and some of the other things are nice, cure nearsight, etc, and ofcourse power regen feild :)

I think wardens are more usefull as Battlemaster, caus of bodyguard and tnx to the style end usage reducing boof, we can do ML styles pretty much w/o going ooe, like other tanks who are battlemasters. And 2 perfectors in grp (2 droods), is more then enough
