Housing Zone GFX bug

Everytime I goto my house in aberillan the screen goes black and no textures get loaded

have the following in the debug log

*** Could not open "phousing/zones/zone273/csv273.mpk"
*** Could not open "phousing/zones/zone274/csv274.mpk"
*** Could not open "phousing/zones/zone273/csv273.mpk"
*** Could not open "phousing/zones/zone274/csv274.mpk"

sure enough these files are missing
so i deleted the phousing folder and checked the complete file update and restart the game
however the required files still do not download from the update server and I cannot enter my own house as the screen is just black in that zone

Anyone else have a similar problem?

Can none of your mates (or guildies) MSN you the files?
Other than that, there did use to be a 'Housing package' - have you checked the DAOC-EU/ US download areas?

I'd try reinstalling the game completely tbh.

Yeah
No more housing zone DL pack availble from the webby

Guess I'll ask a guildy for the files

Bit silly the patcher misses the files every time though

Those files don't exist which is why the patcher is missing them. I'd do a full file check or a reinstall as it seems that your client is calling for the wrong files.

Bit odd the game is looking for them then no?
Guess I'll have to do the 2.6 gig download then

any chance the patcher could be sorted?
I've already lost my house once becuse I cant get into it to pay the rent as there are no textures for that zone

Well, don't think it'll help but here's the /zones/ folder.

Let me know when you've got it as that's my free webspace and so the capacity is quite limited.

Alternatively, try making copies of the dat273.mpk files etc and rename them to the missing files, then try it.

For example, go to /zones/zone273/ folder and copy dat273.mpk there - should be named copy of dat273.mpk - then rename that to csvdat273.mpk. so you'll have dat273.mpk, csvdat273.mpk, and sounds.dat therein.

Try that. If it fails, do the above still but run a complete file check as well.

made no difference

I'm thinking it has something todo with my lappy GFX card
When I tried the exact same files out on my wee brothers desktop PC the textures load even with the same errors in the debug log

so after a complete reinstal of teh game from the installer GOA provide and with the complete file check option ticked I get the same problem

It could be the smoking gun rouse throwing us off here.

"A man walks into a room and finds another man laying on the floor bleeding, he bends over and him and sees a gun, smoking, on the ground near him. Not thinking he picks it up. Just at that moment a policeman walks in........"

Sometimes, people do just stumble onto a crimescene and get blamed. It could be in this case we're just blaming the housing zone errors because they're there in the log and aren't responsible in fact for the problem.

Back to basics - a total removal of your graphics card drivers, reboot, download the new ones, reinstall, reboot, reinstall directx, reboot and try again. Even try something mad like running it windowed or in a different resolution too.

*edit* Just looked in my debug and I've got tons of errors along the same lines so it's not what we thought for sure.

I had problem with no game textures on laptop, it seems to fix if you alt tab out then back in for me it did.
