Housing plots

Saw somewhere that they do a reverse auction to sell plots of land, starting at 100plat.

So if i want a house on the first day i have to pay 100plat for the land, and then a further 10 plat for basic house?

Also says that Goa can set the prices at whatever level they like per server and they'll pull the cash logs to see what the economy on each server can sustain. Also the plot prices on the reverse auction drop every half hour until they reach a minimum price or are bought.
So assuming that the prices on Prydwen are exactly the same as on the US servers, and assuming that you buy a plot within half an hour of the housing patch going live and assuming that you buy a house rather than a cottage, villa or mansion then yes, it wil cost 110 plat plus rent, plus extras.

But I doubt anyone wants to pay that much... there will be a rush around 10p price or something.

Basically, it's not a very good idea to buy your house/plot immediately. Best to wait for the price to go way down. The only reasons you might buy it immediately is if :

1 - You *really* wanted that particular plot of land due to it's natural beauty or outstanding location - having wandered round the US housing zones, I happen to find nearly all of the little villages cute and cuddly and would honestly not be able to say if one plot was better than another. Perhaps a house near the Mularn entrance or near a horsey master might be worth a bit more if you plan to have vendors?.... but that's for you to decide.

The other reason you might buy your plot immediately is if :

2 - You have played Ultima Online in the past and assume that all the housing plots will be gobbled up straight away and you won't be able to get one. On Prydwen - I doubt this will happen. The zones are designed to cater for a full server afaik, and Prydwen isn't full, so I can't imagine we will run out of plots for a long while. I recently logged into Midgard on one of the quieter US servers, and you barely have to walk for 2 minutes to find empty plots, all at their minimum price, and housing has been active there for a while now.

So, in my humble opinion, wait for the plot price to get to it's minimum and save your money for add-ons :p

Latest Patch notes:

--

FOUNDATIONS

- With the introduction of the new housing zones, we have increased the decay rate on the reverse auctions of the housing lots. Lots will now drop at 1.2 platinum per hour, instead of the 500 gold per hour decay rate. Further, the minimum price on a housing lot has been lowered to 300 gold.
