Just watched this movie and I don't really know what to think of it.

The martial arts and matrix-like stuff were good but the plot was slow, confusing and the ending I didn't get. I was expecting a big fight between the house of flying daggers people and the emperor's soldiers. I guess a no. 2 will be due out? Oo

Opinions? ^^

I enjoyed it, not as action packed as something like crouching tiger hidden dragon but it had a nice love story :)

All fur coat no knickers imo..

Looked great...rest was pants, and yeah the ending alluded to a big battle scene that I kinda already knew/feared wasnt coming due to the tight focus on the main char's...but still...the main char's didnt offer enough to make it a great film so they shouldve whacked in a big zerg at the end!

i thought it was nice, however i much prefered Hero and the fight scenes in there, thought the water drop lunge was brilliant.
You start to get used to the plot twists even if they do not make sense at times

I enjoyed it. Not one to remember for all time. Nice martial arts but this kind of stuff has been done better before. The female protagonist is jaw droppingly beautiful. Thought the acting was surprisingly good, and the central love theme underpinning the plot was at times poignant.

I remember this movie more for its aesthetic qualities rather than as an action or martial arts movie. More art house than martial art.I was blown away by the splendid constumes, and beautiful sets. The locations (eg. bamboo forest) perfectly matched the mood of the film.

Regarded as a love story, 7/10.
As an action / m-arts film, 6/10
OVERALL: 7/10

Some good points there.

Although the female did look like a guinea pig in the sex scene (no titties were shown tho :( )

Ong Bak rox more.

sucky story aswell. but better fight scenes

I haven't even seen House of Flying Daggers yet. But I can guarantee Ong Bak rocks more - excellent film from fight point-of-view, again a sucky storyline but who cares.

Not advertising but play.com do it for £6.99 - a quality price imo :)
