Oh look another movie related thread

I just issued a challenge to my (insert approiate word to describe an ex girlfriend you spend lots of time with and could possibly one day get back together with) to watch a horror film on halloween night to make up for cancelling our date tonight :( She hates horror movies so much she hasn't seen things like the crow or aliens because the front covers made her think they were horror.

Problem is I don't have a big horror collection and I want to scare the shit out of her, so recomendations?

The Strangers, Paranormal Activity are my type of films. Strangers seems to really scare the shit out of women, so get that one :D

So you have mixed feelings, you think you want to get back together with her and your plan is to scare her as horribly as possible for some revenge? :D

Don't get a horror movie. Get therapy :D

Oh dear Roo, you have much to learn, what will happen is she will jump into Daves arms and then he can simply spunk on her tits.

lol what trem said, my methods are subtle but effective. When she turns to me and says she can't sleep alone tonight I'll remember your words. I won't think about you as I'm unleashing the fury though :) I'll be thinking of Trem at that point.

Damn right, actually I reckon lots of people think of me as they get the jesters shoes, I reckon my dad used to for sure.

Good luck though Dave, everyone should get to have a shag on Halloween...or something along those lines.

Here's an awesome trick, halfway through the movie go for a wee, in the loo you change into a clown outfit, let out a bloodcurdling scream and then charge out of the bathroom brandishing a tomato stained knife :)

Gauranteed she will poop her pants and you get to lick her clean you filthy scat fiend.

Keep it simple and effective : The Descent :)

The descent wasn't scary it was just wank

And I don't always think of you when I'm firing off the action Trem, sometimes I think of teedles :)

Fair play tbh, teedles does have way bigger b00bs. Also his 'gina is so perfect it looks like 2 chicken breasts laying side by side. He's a hottie for sure.

I think of either my dead dad or the time I did a pooh that didn't upset my piles, both of those things make the vinegar strokes way better.

The descent is nasty...seems to scare women more than men. terrified me, I had nightmares for weeks! 'IT' is always a good choice for a scare.
OR, you could do what a mate did to me once. Make her watch something a tad on the daft side, like 'i know what you did last summer' or 'scream'.....and then re-enact on of them scenes from it....like jump at her in a fishing slicker with a giant hook. That scared me shitless....though didn't make me want to jump into his arms. I chased him round the house with a rolled up newspaper beating him every chance I got!

if she is really a horror wimp put the exorcist on, thatl scare the shit, piss and the halloween treats right out of her.

a lot of people say it isnt scary, but for me it is definatly the most psychologically scary film out there.

although if you really want to scare her, watch something with 'unseen forces' in it causing havoc. have a talk after about how the film makes you think and what could be out there. over the coming days and weeks, you can continue the affect and misplace objects around the house. the odd rapping noise here and there. tell her about that thing you thought you saw last night in the corner of your eye. hopefully you can drag it to next halloween.

thatl do her.

My favorite horror movie is el orfanato. The most scary I've seen, is without doubt Shutter though - the asian version, not the american shit.

Best option is to pick something based on her fears if you really want to scare her. Spiders, clowns, enclosed spaces... find her weakness and use that to turn her into a gibbering pliable wreck.

And also watch The Strangers, it's a great film.

I'll shamelessly pimp my brother and his girlfriend's website here - Horror Movie reviews, interviews and features. Gorepress

Loads of horror reviews. I don't agree with all of the ratings (Bug is a bit on the boring side, if you ask me) but for the most part it's (imo) very accurate. No backhanders from the industry, not clawing for tag lines to be lifted for posters, so they just say what they think.

Movies that have terrified me - Dawn of the Dead remake. My god, I actually felt like I would have to leave the cinema at one stage because my heart was hurting. 28 Days Later. The Descent (I screamed in the cinema). The Eye, The Ring, and The Grudge, but only if you watch the original versions.

I thought "Them" was better than "The Strangers" ... but both are a good scare :flame:

i'd say dont go for anything recent as they are usually so overdone they fail to be a horror movie and are just splatter movies.

get nightmares on elmstreet or something simmilar.

not sure why but women usually find that serie to be really disturbing...

tho if she's that scared of them you might want to save some cash for the shrink she might need after.

Jesus christ, all these suggestions and not one good one. All you need is the daddy of horror and the only truly scary movie: The Shining.

I found the shining scarey when I was like 10, not so much now.

The Shining is amazing but since the Simpsons did it it has lost its shine :D

Its a film to absorb rather than be scared at.

Honestly The Strangers will do the trick Dave.

[Rec] (2007)
El espinazo del diablo (2001)
Ôdishon (1999)
Session 9 (2001)
Janghwa, Hongryeon (2003)
El orfanato (2007)

All very good, unfortunately Americans suck at making horror movies so good horror in english is pretty hard to come across. Rec is particularly awesome, any women I know who have watched it have seriously bricked it.

To be honest, [REC] left me a "meh" taste. The chick was hot at least :)

Session 9 was refreshing, i liked it. The orphanat, was also "meh"

You forgot to put there:

"The Darkness". Not the "jumpy scary" type of movie, but a good one, and with decent acting too.
