horizontal breakup lines, please help

can anyone help, tried everything. When playing games or anything moves across the screen i get these horizontal breakup lines. Have latest drivers and a not bad spec PC.
The specs are
OS - XP PRO (service pack 1)
P4 2.4GHz
Motherboard - Asus P4B533-E (intel 845e - ata 133 raid enabled - 533MHz FSB) whatever that means
Soundcard - Audigy
Graphics Card - TI 4400 (not the best i know, but good enough)
HDD - 2 x Maxtor 7200 rpm 60GHz (raided)
Monitor - Iiyama Vision Master 1451
Power - 300w

Have replaced monitor incase the last one was faulty but still the same.

your monitor cant cope with the speed of your gfx card. Turn vsynch on and the problem will be solved

vertical sync is/has always been on, even when i had the radeon 8500 and it did it then. so perhaps the monitor isnt good enough

What resolution are you running at?

You've just said you've swapped the monitor, so I doubt it. It's definitely something to do with your graphics card settings.

in the graphix options (right click desktop -> settings tab -> advanced) somwere in here you should be able to change a little drop down box containing a load of resolutions and Hz values, I think the defalt is optimal, try some of the others.

This may work, maybe...
