after a breif chat with Kemor earlier, the lag doesnt seem to originate from the servers themselves but it seems its coming from ISPs. so basically all this lag flaming seems a bit misguided imo. i dont think its GOA that has the problems, its the ISPs.

Flaming just allows people to get away with saying stuff they;d never have the balls to say in real life. And the fact that GOA is a facless corp with no unquie identifying values to place it in higher regard over other gaming companys only furthers this as people belive they can effectivly get away with it...

Aye it's generated by the internet/routers nothing you can do about it at least not yourself.

Ah that would be why certain zones (Bri Leith, Collory on Camlann as an example) are laggy for people from the UK, Finland, Sweden and France, must be the router leading straight into GOA. Guess that explains the zone crashes too..

well, if it's certain zones crashing, that's actually Mythic, not GOA to blame, as that suggests bad handling of the amount of action in the zone. If the problem was with GOA's servers, it would be in all zones, only in some zones is an issue with the way the game is coded.
So, wether it's the isp, or the game not handling the player count in the zone, whichever of those it is, it's not GOA to blame. GOA are to blame if a server actually develops a corrupt database, loses internal connection from the rest of GOA's network e.t.c

I remember hearing somewhere that different zones are run on different machines, so maybe some of these machines just need to get looked at or something. Lyonesse, Camlann was dropping people left right and center tonight as well.

And when you have folks from all over the world having issues ONLY at the game point, that is sure as hell GOA's responsibility, and even if it just crappy french internet, then all the more reason Mythic should dump em and go with a company that is in a country with decent wiring.

tell em to at least get more/alternative bandwidth. We had a huge influx of new players over Christmas holiday.
