afaik the hitler youth was like the german equivilant of the boyscouts, he was a child when he joined (and most kids get made to join things by their folks, im deeply mortified that i was once in the brownies, soon remidied that by setting light to the hut kitchen though) and his father was a policeman who resigned rather than take part in the nazi movement (and remember this was formed before hitler became a bad word), and pope john paul was in the polish underground during the war and he didnt have a problem with him he was one of his closest friends.

I just remember a boy (one of my class mates older brothers) at my middle school who used to come to all the school discos and dress like michael jackson and do a dance routine, this was way before the child molestation "allagations" (sp?) came out, so sometimes people do things, join things because its normal its only looking back you think whoa, shouldnt have done that, but who knew?
