Sounds pretty cool for the solo player, but there's just a certain joy of beating your friends and throwing the joypad into the couch and yelling "I'm still the undefeated champion!" :)

I've read about this sort of tech before (.. Well, researched) and it's pretty funky. The UK would need to be at least on 50meg lines before it'd really work, and ISPs would need to prepare for the mass abusing on their network.

Would be a really nice idea. Hell, would make gaming easier (Only issue is, they'd have to have an external storage spot, or make them stupidly compressed - Since I'd not like to download 6.xGb every other day)

Love finland :D

The thing is, it's about not having to download stuff at all. You play everything on the server.

The thing is, only the box fratboy generation acknowledges the good and the fanboi, techgeek, PS nerd and PC "upgrader" would never go for it, not to include the PC manufacturers.

It would work, would be fun and how it should be, but not gonna happen anytime soon.

People are morons.

I'm not convinced they could deliver this on the UK network, but its fantastic for those who dont have consoles or powerful pc's in their homes

Or here is Belgium where the ISP's still enforce a 10-30gb a month download limit for the "regular" subscriptions...

I've spectacle about cost tbh.

Sceptical? Oh well nvm on that, the thing is, there's an overall argument as to whether this over all helps or hinders the computing industry via hardware/software and it's implications for commerce as a whole. This market is currently thriving due to the need for upgrades and sales etc. I don't think the market place will look at it too kindly.

But for us, well, would roxx, but in the case of living in the UK, aye, gotta agree with those that said about the internet lines capability. Open transit would also be a problem too for those living in the UK as it is the main hub for our i-net lines ><

Well atleast Sweden and Finland got great networks, in Sweden the goverment subsidsed it, i got 100mb line for and phone service for 20 euro a month. But we get around 15 euro discount since our "community" bought and paid for the cable installations in the building.
