I've found with my 46 Shammy, quests like "Gem of the dwarvern king" gave me a bub and a bit (plus the nice items and gold.
What you gotta watch out for though, is the level of danger involved and the incredible time it takes to do them.
I had hoped that doing these sort of quests would negate the need for going to malmo, but if you want to get to fifty fast, then you aint gonna do it by doing quests.
With that in mind, I gave up "trying" to get to fifty. When I ding fifty, it won't be from relentless exp'ing in malmo, it'll be because GOA ramped up the exp rewards for quests or maybe dish out exp like airmiles. You know, like you just had to travel round the map three times to recive a piddly ammount of exp whilst facing dangers left right and center? Maybe you can get an exp reward for all the damn shoe leather you just used to do it!
I was missing 4.4 from my level with savage and we did Ancestral Secrets, Gem of the Dwarven King and Hidden Maps with Morgyn. After these I did my epics starting from level 40 and dinged on 2nd last step of 48 epic.
However, note that mystic epics are very very gimped in exp, for example level 48 steps give 300-350 million exp where viking epic steps give 1.3-1.5 billion exp at same steps.
But those SI quests are worth doing if you like quests, besides being very nice quests, they're fairly easy and you can do them all at same time (them being pretty much at same places). You can do all of them with 2 people (or even solo).
Of course, they will take some time so you might get the few bubbles you get from them faster in malmo, but in my opinion they were quite entertaining too. And you get Glacier Jewel as well
Edit: There's Mammoth Hunt quest also but I've heard it's very long and needs group (atleast on some steps). Couldn't find it on Warcry quest database either so we didn't do it yet then (when getting exp) not knowing how hard it would be.
yes Belorfyn that troll fathers one is a joke if you dont have correct faction, and the last step needs at least 3 or 4 people
spent nealry 8 hours doing it for a crumby cloak
