Hibs are Cowards

All Hibs are cowardly dogs with no honour.

You are only brave in when in large numbers.

You have no individual or single group skill at all.

I would challenge you to meet me one on one, except that you would have a stealther with you.

I will challenge you :)

Hibs are overpowered and can kill any Albion class in 2 Hits/Nukes. (apparently)

xanth you forgot our baseline "stun an entire zerg" spell on all hib casters, which we can then follow up with the "omfg that's overpowered BULLSHIT FFS! wtf have mythic all rolled hib characters FFSSSSSS!!!!1!!" pbae and wipe them all in two casts :p

oh yes, if even half of what i should be looking forward to at level 50 is as true as the albs say then the rp's will indeed roll in

:D

Rofl no. Every realm has players that stick together in Emain. Albs were always the zerg, Mids have done it for a while, at the moment Hibs are doing it. Every realm also has players who refuse to stick to zergs and try to move as a single group. At the moment Hibs have more of that kind of groups than the other realms. Mid has some, but they moved to Camlann mostly, Albion has some and I think they still play.

I'm thinking you just ran through Emain and got outzerged. Forgive me if I assumed wrongly.

I would challenge you to meet me one on one, except that you would have a stealther with you.
So first you try to insult your enemies, and then you admit you're not brave enough to face them? That's a dishonourable thing to do. Oh wait, that's what you accused your enemies of. Easy to see things from two sides isn't it? Try it ( ;

Does it matter?

Let's be honest here - does anyone really care who this prat is?

Well curiosity got the better of me and it turns out this person is a 50 Armsman with 78k RP's.

I think we should respect the mumblings of such an experienced player.

ROFL, he obviosly posted this in the wrong forums; they should be in the alb section :p

Its just so fucking priceless, an alb. bitching and whining that hib always runs around in big numbers :D

wakeupcall: OI! YOU! you fecking invented zerging, most albs couldnt find tactics if you hit them on the head with it(camp mmg with zerg, charge attackers, chase to tk, flee to mmg, die, rinse, repeat, dry hands on pants)

Only 78K RPs?

Correct.

Ah, but is that 78K from combat with honour, or from sat behind a tree while a zerg gets them for me?

Seeing you're an alb, most will assume the latter. Great if you want to promote fighting with honour, but you're really barking up the wrong tree.

I just dont understand what gratification ppl get out of fighting in such large numbers.

I suppose its all about getting the most points possible in the quickest time.

But not for me.

Apart from which - what possible enjoyment can anyone get from lag combat.

Simple answer for me would be to have an arena (as in EQ)

I've lead a few zergs. Here's how it goes:
1. Head to Emain with 1fg. Get killed by 3-4fg Albs.
2. Start a cg, invite hibs until we're 4fg (which can be considered a 'zerg', although that word was initially reserved for the 8fg albs that would charge Emain. Not seen em in THAT large numbers lately though).
3. Head to Emain. Kill the albs.
4. Mission accomplished. I leave the zerg and head off with my own group.
5. Albs come back, sometimes even more. Queue a lot of zerging and counterzerg. At this point most people -mids, albs and hibs- who are not interested in zergs, either try to avoid the zerg or leave Emain and go someplace else.

As far as I've seen, zerging is the worst way to get rps. Especially because it usually means one side outnumbering the other, so you have to share every kill with 40 people in a zerg, while you could easily have gotten more had you been 1-2fg.

Well you can pay less attention to what you're doing, as you have the numbers to afford it. Not everyone plays this game to be an ace uber skilled soloer or ganksquad. Some peeps log on, hop on the train to Emain, kill some, die, and log off. I don't like it, but tbh it's a perfectly acceptable way to treat the game. Not everyone is concerned with the effect that playing style has on other people.

That would eliminate the idea of DaoC RvR imho, and as much as I dislike zerging, I like DaoC RvR. All it needs is some more people prepared to avoid the zergs. If I log on, I do a /who Emain, /who Odin, /who Hadrian, /who Breifine, /who Gorge. If for example Emain/Breifine/Gorge has 40 people and Odin has 10, then I go to Odin's. And I try to get my guildies to come with me. Thankfully, Ithil Galad is not too keen on Emain and prefers roaming around in Midgard and Albion frontiers ( ;

Good post, Ensceptifica.

Sensible and well reasoned argument.

The idea of the arena was in addition to, not instead of, RvR, though btw.

I enjoy RvR, after all, like most ppl, I worked hard to get to L50 so I could enjoy it :)

Good advice, humbly accepted.

Anyway, with a name like yours you couldn't hide behind a tree :)

If I could have said it in-game then I would.

Anyway - got the answer I was looking for, so no need for me to come back here now.

So you can carry on flaming me, and hiding in zergs if you want :)

Ensceptifica, you forgot one thing, hibs/mids cant zerg, thats an alb only realm skill ;)

My most memorable (not in a good way) time involving a zerg was one evening in emain, me and the 2fg I was with were happily trying to sneak off into hibbie land and borrow a keep. All of a sudden my framerate drops to about 5fps, I think 'wtf, my system isnt that crap' and then I suddenly realise what it was as 100+ albs 'pop' onto my screen about 20ft away. I try to cast an aoe mezz, but get told that I have to be standing still even though I stopped moving several seconds earlier, a few seconds later I am lying on the floor chewing bright green grass. And that is why I try to avoid emain during peak times as much as possible.

I got a theory on what powers a zerg as well, they are all trying to get to the front so that their comps dont have to draw 100 other characters on the screen at a time :)

P.S.: Duel me when u wish but I can´t tell u can survive it.
