I am quite surprised that there is no huge discussion thread about the events that appear to be coming to a head in Hibernia recently, so I am going to try and start one. Here is what I know, guess, and suspect.
The whole thing appears to have started almost 2 months ago with the heart of stone event and the apparently simultaneous apperarance of Norseman lookalike strangers
The Heart of Stone involved an Astrologer taking people aroung killing mobs to stop a 'greal evil'. It ended up with the death of a mob called Taoazan. Once dead a shade called Melipon rushed up, took his heart and ran off saying that Someron would be pleased.
It turns out Someron, aka The Usurper is also an old enemy of Cliodna and the Siabra.

The next part involves moonmoss and the Curm, and Merecraft tells it far better than I ever could. I suggest you read his description here; http://www.valoria.org/camelot/show...er=7957&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=0&fpart= beacause apart from anything else it is very well written and hugely entertaining.
At the end of it though, Someron gets the stone, and an enemy in the form of a very confused Curm, who may play an even larger part as the story unfolds.
There have also been sighting and conversations with strangers in Hib and the frontier. A Stranger who was a little too interested in the Hibernian defenses for my liking and a Stranger who had lost his way and perhaps his memory looking for a City. It is my opinion that he might have been an escapee.
So Someron has 2 powerful magical stones, and seems to have moved to stage 2. The capture of the townsfolk of Uphorst and the annex of the Spraggon Den. This is where the story is at this point.
Last night I was a part of a large force who went into the Den to try and clear it out and get some info. We went, we saw, we kicked some, but they just kept coming. We saw a few named mobs, but got no real useful information except that the solution to the Spraggon Den problem is almost certainly not going to be reached through force of arms.
After the Raid on the Den I wandered for a bit trying to find out what I could about the event, and getting nowhere fast when someone pm'd me and asked me about it. I thought this was strange as there were only 150 or so people on the whole server! He suggested that the attacks were made solely for the possession of the mines. Negotiations for mining rights had fallen through and they had decided to take matters into their own hands. The only way to sort it was to find the negotiator. He also suggested I ask in mine and other guilds about this, it seemed very strange that someone would send me at 5am and make this Fox Moulder-esque leap of deduction so I have included this here.
I have n the whole been really impressed of what I have seen on this event, but have not been involved until recently, but it does make a great break. So what do you think? Conspirasy theories, wild speculation, Or do you know something that I don't? Flame away...
