Hibernia Classes

First off hi all :)

I am just looking for information on the hib classes other than
what my little daoc book teachs me and who are best to know
well im thinking the people who play them . If everyone could
post what their class is and why they play that class it could be
used to help everyone who wants to pick a new class ...
because the book doesnt tell you squat. :(

I dont want this to be a flame war , about why a certain class
is bad or useless , I want people who love playing their charactors
to tell me why they love playing them.

Eg . I love my blademaster because I use two axes to attack at the same time to quickly cut people down...etc

Thanks in advance

First off Hibernia gets Axes for weapons <that i didnt know i must admit> ?

I tried playing several classes on Hib/Exc and this is what i thought of them :

--Druid-- OK the first thing i liked about druid was that he gets heals, some offensive magic like shaman and he additionally gets a pet. Fun support class to play, quite similar to shaman. Probably not the best class if you love RvR.

--Champ-- First impression is Skald + Debuffer, good combination of a might and magic, If used correctly debuffs can be very helpfull.. unfortunately due to heavy resists vs purpl mobs and very fast paced RvR <dont forget the 5 fps> debuffing may seem useless.

--NS-- Hibbie version of an asassin, things i noticed when i played it very low damage output and damage resistance, pulling spell isnt good enough to be reconned with.

--Eld-- The best caster in game by far although not my favourite, the ultimate mage to play, so if you love roasting your enemy this is a path for you to take up.

Havent played other classes past level 10 so cant speculate on them :)

with regards to your comments on NS`s i might be doing something wrong and i`m only level 11 but...

i can kill a blue con anything without it even hitting me i usually pull from distance DD DD DD PBDD poison ...dead takes about 10 seconds and there no downtime ever

yellows take a bit longer at 15 seconds and occasionally get a hit on me :( so this means a bit of downtime after 5 or 6 kills

anyhooooo

Try it out later on mate... most classes can solo well upto level 13-15 then the problems start to materialize :) Besides what good is a DD in RvR when you need to PA/ Backstab.... I know its can be used in some situations and its better to have it then not... but i still think of that spell as RP farming machine... Stand on wall, cast away and hope someone finishes them off :) <besides i never heard of an assasin starting off with DD anyhow, when i was trying it out myself it was doing squat damage for some reason>

edit: Will i ever learn to spell right

whats a PBDD ? Im getting old....

Are u toking about NS...i am quiet sure that there is like a 20sec timer on the spells...dont think you can cast so many spells..u have a dd with a 20s timer and a instant also on timer ( not sure if my timings correct thou ) and PBDD??? sound like u are toking about a mana eld...

I am not flaming you or anything just want to make this clear :p

There's 2 different DD spells as a NS. 1 is a shout with short distance and is timed on 20 secs I think, the other has a cast time but no timer between casts.

Nedowiz lvl4x Champion
Dalloca lvl2x Nightshade

About pet, dont expect too much from it,its 1/4 from your lvl in max spec so at lvl 50 my pet is lvl 37,usefull disturbing casters tho :D Not sure but think your damage output is fairly high for healer type classes too

And for offensive spells,we got one dot what max dmg is around 50 in full spec what i dont recommend

But dont take me wrong,i love my Druid and have fun in rvr too :)

K thanks all for your Info

Ive decided to go with a magic spec , as that class seems
interesting and I like to blow stuff up :) and coming from
duel weilding maniac Id like to use my Int for a while.

So my next question is for any Eldrichs out their
should i go void line or mana line??

Elf or lurikeen ?

Im thinking of going Elf for the Int bonus and specing
10 Points to Int, 10 to Con, and 10 to Dex
with the con for that extra hp
Does this sound ok ?

Do i put points just into one or do i put some into a secondary?
Any info much appreciated

Thanks again all.

I've found a nightshade much easier to solo than a blademaster - but then I when my BM was at the levels my NS has reached, we hadn't received the patches upgrading us (triple wield, better evade etc).

If you're soloing, it's possible to cast 3 normal DDs before your target reaches you, then a shout DD and melee (may well get another shout off before the fight's over). Still works a treat on blues at level 27, though I prefer stealthing in and starting with a backstab/PA chain if possible. It just feels so good to deliver a successful assassination, plus it's good practice for RvR. Was DD pulling and meleeing plated fiends (yellow con) in darkness falls though, the aggro in there is a bit too intense to try stealthing up to mobs.

In RvR... you shouldn't ever have to use your cast time DD as far as I can see. It does naff damage and is really for pulling, like a tank's bow. Unlike a tank at a keep siege, you'll always have better things to do. The shout DD is a useful extra bit of damage to throw while you're meleeing, and I've also used it to destealth enemies I've spotted creeping up on friendly casters.

Actually - I can see one RvR use for the cast time DD :) Get a robe and a staff and stand at the edge of a battle throwing these (flashy but wimpy) DD spells in. Some infiltrator or shadowblade may well take the bait...

Nah either youll get an arrow from a scout or a zerg, Besides whats gonna happen if the Assassin takes the bait :) After he gets PA in you are dead anyways :)

Thanks again all.

Void elds are great at soloing bolts do hell alot of damage (if the hit ) if u go void i suggest putting points in Dex as it helps with the hitting.
Mana eld PBaoe i really great for groups and taking/defending keeps kinda sux at soloing thou alot of kiting..if u go mana eld dont think really need to add points into dex doesnt help much imo..put the extra into con or int true it not worth the 2:! point exchange but abit more life help since u have to run into the thick of battle or abit more fire power to take mobs and of course them albs and middys down
Elf or lurikeen well i would go elf better int and the look better at least to me :p l
lurikeen might be good cause of higher dex (good for bolts) small size harder to target...stick behind a big firby than pbaoe nuke...at least they wont see u for abit : P
Hope this helps abit

Celestina forgot to add Light eldritch/enchanter/mentalists to list. Light casters are usualy VERY good at fighting in frontier, as they have very fast and powerfull single target DD. Also they have other goodies:

Eldritch: Near sight, dex/quick debuff, aoe mezz

Enchanter: attack speed debuff and AOE attack speed debuff (they will have it in next patch probably) which is very good in combination with warden pbt ;)

Mentalist: range AOE and mob charm, which can be very usefull.

Except Eldritch light spec line, all dmg is heat, which is nice in term of lvling. in Rvr.. well.. if you have a friend with you that has heat debuff, then you are walking death to enemy (unless you meet assasin ;)

Ahh, sorry.. somehow overlooked that he asked for void or mana ;)

I'm playing my light eld alt, tried light enchanter and mentalist as well.. and didn't tried it in RvR but in term of lvling, they are hard hitters. Mana eld/enchanter are great in group, but here is allways risk as you have to be close.. and if you have warden as tank, then expect to taunts fails often :)) (though wardens best taunt is healing of course)
