Hibby Lord room PBAE, just a thought

Looking at the hibby PBAE casters spell tables it seems all thier PBAE does Energy damage. As a realm this is something we should consider, for instance the Slender Ebony Theurgist Staff has an 18% Energy resist which would help me last that little bit longer. Clerics also get an Energy resist buff up to 27% on top of cap, Paladins also get a 20% Energy resist chant. If we use these properly alot less people will die when we storm the Lord room. Tanks with 50% Energy resists will last twice as long and that means dead PBAE casters every time.

most of us know this but we still die.

in hibbie keeps if you go up the slope jump to the side when your high enough and run back along the top ledge. then you can get the casters along the top while being out of their BP AOE range.

Yup Kladen I know a few people are doing the resists and running along the ledge. The last 3 groups I have been in while taking defended Hib keeps either didn't know this or didn't bother. Alot also run the body resist to avoid the bard mezz but really they need to switch to Energy for the lord room. If the bard mezzes you then one PBAE blast breaks it anyway and the Energy resist reduces the damage taken. It wasn't a post designed to flame people for not doing or knowing this, purely a post to help people get set tactics and survive a little longer.

really isnt much we can do against four of those lurikreen atom bombs in such an enclosed area, especially when they have about 12 tanks guarding the entrance, nevermind the damn lord shooting us also

On hib they prize pbaoe like a lost treasure. If a wiz there has not got pbaoe then levelling will be hard for them.

We do need more pbaoer's who are ice wizards. Hibbie are lucky two classes can spec for pbaoe the enchanter and the eldritch both in the mana line.

No matter how many resists you have if you're close to one of these mages you're in a lot of trouble. If you pop more than 3 of them in the lord room guarded by tanks and bards you're in deep poo. Coming up the stairs once when when we were defending I counted 5.......... how quickly did we drop........... about 0.5 of a second couldnt even get close to them down.

I don't think pbaoe should be nurfed at all, generally the hib mages who have this lack a decent long range attack. They have the base dd and in the case of the eldritch one nuke ball.

They know how to use their tools effectively and pbaoe I don't need to tell you is useful fort defense and taking magic.

Thats the thing our realm is become too unbalanced,if you search classes you will see infiltrators,armsman and paladins the most common we should be more different to cause more problems in rvr.Also most wizards go for fire,when some should go for ice because of things such as this it would help us more if things was more balanced.

A properly played Ice wizard can make a ton of realm points at keep defence and milegate standoffs. The PBAE is great at knocking those hitpoints off while a Theurgy spams AE root at the gate. Just like an AE tanglers groups but the tanglers look like supermodels compared to Hibs and Mids

Let me add to that, we have guys like Meepthor who can play an Ice wizard well but doing PBAE solo usually gets you killed fast. 3-4 Ice wizards working together would be just devastating.

seems that every1's hell bent on PBAoE's, using the caster as the center of the radius meaning that he has to be out there up the front getin pelted to feck by arrows and bolts =(

notice ppl seem to forget about GTAoE's(wizzy earth spec =/) although earth maybe gimped the use of GTAoE's COULD be more effective than PBAoE's? just an idea?

Still if you have a fairly good resist you cant live very long if there are 2+ lvl 50 mana spec chants/elds.
I know in Thidranki the resists of people are still low but my PBAE knocks of 90% ! hp in 1 hit of a yellow con highlander.
If a luri mana chanter would also max Dex and Int at lvl 50 you better not get too close
And the fun thing is, It doesnt drain mana like a normall DD.
If you have a nice mana spec mentalist with you then you would be possible to PBAE quite a long time with no downtime.

u cant reroot like on gobs will just say "he cant bee rooted again yet" or something

Yeah I was more thinking of catching the rest of them trying to sprint through or the ones who resist the first root. With a few PBAE casters we could decimate them before they moved forwards or backwards. That is the whole problem with Albion right now, we don't work in teams to overcome the odds and use what skills we have available. Far too often I have seen Sorcerers and Theurgists nuking rather than running CC to stop the horde in there tracks, problem is they want realm points and you get bugger all for rooting 10 mids even when they all die.

Remember that Hibs have a load of Void Eldies GTAE'in back

With GTAE things will probably get even harder than they already are for you, coz you need to get through a door which gets GTAE spammed by some voidies

But "maybe" your 439673457935 infils can help you with this, but only if theyre not solo'in in emain but actually are at a keepraid

I wish! Dunno what RvR is like in the fronteer on Prywdn but I got 4 BG chars now and not once have I found anyone who will stick back and defend people.

I am guilty of creating an infiltrator but I dont just use him for hit and run raids - I will often sit back and defend mages while they rest or clerics from other stealthers. With maxed stealth I can often spot em before they reach their target to Its all about team work but the trouble is its difficult to organise anything when it all has to be typed in the heat of battle. Also, unless you are with guildies or some good friends, people tend to ignore each other and do their own thing. We tried organising a keep raid once in the BG but noone could sit still for long enough!

The resists issue is a dead end because a group of PBAOE'rs is so powerful even with maxed resists youll last milliseconds!

hehe nope, won't work

Yeah, sure, you can try sneaking round the side to get at us, but you need to GET to the side first.

Low level pbaoe spam WILL uncover any stealthers, and ANY visible target will result in a switch to the high level pbaoe. Any caster wil not survive more than 3 pbaoe's trying to get up to the side of the walkway.

Yeah, a smite cleric could, with insta heals, manage to get onto the side, but to get anywhere that he/she is able to cast will require having to get past the dozen or so tanks sitting waiting for them, not counting non-pbaoe casters, and rangers. And to smite they need to not be interupted, which will be hard due to not having QC.

I have challenged the Middies to try taking our Lord room defence with a dedicated Hib Lord room attack, where we will defend only the Lord room, but they have not yet responded. You Albs fancy giving it a try? Practice makes perfect remember
