There's a new interface type you can chose in SI, under the options screen when you're chosing your character to play chose "Transparent interface"

There was a bug where text in inventory items was cut in half... They may have fixed this now.

It's also called ALPHA 0 from the right click menu!
(and my other bars aren't transparent = I am not using the transparent mode, because of the ½ text bug)
