Hi Jumps

I am still puzzled by the incredibly high jumps some players achieve on some servers.
For example in 'Beta Station' players can not only jump out of the trenches, but even jump onto the top of the highest wall in the mddle.
I have tried capping FPS as advised in another thread here, but still can not jump out of a trench!
Can anyone advise please?

Well it's done using FPS, but it doesn't always work on busy public servers. Try looking straight down as you jump.

Work on this on a quiet server first.

You want your fps to be around 72/76 (seta com_maxfps"72") although I think other values work.

Use \cg_drawfps 1 (I think) in the console to display your fps on screen to check it's ok.

If this works you can also jump straight up to the flag on Kln1, etc.

As for the wall jump (without using photon jumps), that's just a combination of strafing and timing the jump correctly, using the slope to gain the extra height.

if ya cant achieve a stable 76 under fire try setting it to 55. this also works for ppl that cant sustain 76 or higher when under fire.

Yeah Popes servers, although good fun, aren't always the best for trying this trick.

Keep trying, it will work!

Setting FPS works only for the trenchjumps tho.
To jump on the wall, all u need is timing & speed (strafejumping).

Just needs some practise, thats all. gl & hf

Got it working! I tried 72FPS as suggested by Napalm and it worked fine - I had already tried 76 & 55 - just goes to show it pays to experiment.

Good trick but how come it only happens at a certain FPS?
