Anyone else treat DAoC like work now?

Don't know about you, but I log on every day, partly to speak to all the friends I've made over the last year, partly because I have little better to do.

After getting a 2nd level 50, everything in game just seems like work. Who enjoys farming for money? Who enjoys trinketting for hours to get a small amount of cash? Spending hours trying to work out a workable SC template because the level 50 armour we're given sucks? And all of this just to be beaten to a bloody pulp by someone who's idea of the game is to stuff more cash into Mythic's pockets by having a 2nd account, buffbot and no skill.

Hey I'm tired of work - I feel like I have 2 full time jobs... DAoC is meant to be a game, but for me the enjoyment has dropped - I'll still play, at least until something decent comes along...

What I've been saying for a long time now unfortunately  and rvr is also now mor of a chore than ever. Some people say that rvr has become more 'professional', well I never wanted to become a professional dark age of camelot player to be honest.

Waiting for Planetside, Eve and SW:G to arrive now, then followed by Dragon Empires some time a lot later.

Same here. It's a case of playing Daoc because there's nothing better to do. Good thing though is that slowly I am getting more and more things to do again :)

Yes, I sometimes treat DAoC like work.

I log in every day.

I talk to most people I know on the game as often as I get time for. - But because I like doing it.

Got 2 L50's, does feel like work XPing.

I enjoy farming for money.

I enjoy trinketing for hours getting little money.

Spent the hours working out SC template (with a lil help from Wyleia.... okok, a lot of help...)

Spent the hours crafting the SC armour...

I put more money into the pocket of GOA (not Mythic... GOA pays Mythic indirectly..) by having three account, and none of them are specifically buffbots.

When DAoC does drag me down into the pit of frustration, repetitiveness and sheer bloodyminded stupidity of some of the 'players' alongside us... I have a wide selection of other activities I enjoy too :)

Simply - if it pisses you off, do something else. Take a break. Cheer up :)

yep, i like it, its not work to me, its a distraction from the rest of my life, its nice to relax and play instead of running around in rl with 200+ things to do, but i've been playing a year now, and still don't have a lvl 50, so u can see i'm not taking it too seriously

I had this feeling at Christmas and just before I semi retired.

I still like poping on to talk to all my friends.

However....

I've found a new lease of life in the game by having an alt in a wonderful Roleplaying guild. It is a wonderful breath of fresh air.

Saying that I don't go on all the time. I find other things to do, other games to play so when I do login to DAoC I don't feel it is a chore.

Take a break from time to time and you actually find the enjoyment again. :)

Well ppl no one told us to have lvl 50 in 1 month and to get to 1000+ in crafting in one month too.... its meant to be slow lvling its meant to have even 30+ chars in RvR... but we WE can only blame ourselves cuz EVERYBODY (me too) wanted to have the first lvl50 the most whatever ... u know what i mean... were pushing ourselves forward to a limit where u say "yes its work" only to be able to still compete with ppl spending even more time....

its not mythics fault we want to compete its ours... u can develop a char much slower

and even u can play less thatn 8 hours a day which i did pretty long but im easy now will take a week break or so... RP dont matter so much for me im more the lvler...i like battles but the "professional RvR" is not my thing. i like large scale battles... like in beta... sigh ;P well m8es its up to us if we want to keep pace with some ppl faster or better than us and ruin the fun expierience for us with that or we play for ourselves not caring for the speed of others having our fun when we want to and having NO work to do with daoc ;P
every mob u kill should be more like ... whatever u know what i mean ;P have a nice day all and play relaxed... golden rule:

be nice to ppl ;P someday u will get payed back... believe me ;P
