Hi end xp thoughts

Hi guys,

I play mid/excal as a rule but got some alts on alb/pryd and share house with 1 of the utopia guys...


I watch him struggle above 40 with xp, witherwoods/tanglers etc.. xp aint great at all

Then i seen him goto dartmoor (?) by the dragon lair... nice static quick popping spawn of those stone giant things. Now this dont look too much different to Malmohous lair in mid ( the place that you can do 43-50 in a few days max)... yet its ALWAYS deserted. I seen him xp there with a guild grp and it looked not to hard at all and the xp was awesome, same as we get @ lair in mid...

why the hell do people still do witherwoods? beats me

Easy to get to them, dartmoor is aggro hell getting into or out of.

Dartmoor is good because it's fun to hunt down there. You don't even look at your exp-bar!


If you're still in the mid-40s, you need a strong group to get in and out alive and most people like to end by attacking the dragon. Not good for the exp-thing


Trees are easy to get to and there's almost always a group already there.

I think witherwoodes are utter crap,df is best place to exp 4 am or so you get about 12 mill camp bonus and pulling 6 mobs a time hehe you get 50 pretty quick

I frankly don't know why Witherwoodes are so popular. Can't stand them myself, to be honest. Even if the xp can be decent in a good group, they are just way to boring to fight. I'd much rather go to DF or DM (which had more activity in it before DF come along).

I would love to exp in DM, but finding a group there is unlikely, getting there is also hard, and starting a group yourself can be a huge pain as many people will just opt for the easier option (witherwoods/DF)

all the spots are a bit gay, compared to midgards uberleet spots anyway.

Dartmoor is great. Good drops for every class, lots of BAF mobs and deserted so the camp/group bonuses are huge. Frankly Stonelords > Witherwood by a mile. Also the layout is evil for getting aggro but it makes it all the more fun to be honest. When tanglers get the big nerf you watch the numbers in dartmoor shoot up and if they don't then alot of Albs are very dumb.

erm, Lair in malmo is no picnic to get to.... just we been xpin there for so long peoples have worked the routes out, still a 50/50 chance of gettin there alive tho alone as grps are already there etc....

actually I cant stand trees anymore as exp there over lv 46 is crap.
when I were working on my last lvs when DF werent added yet I tried to get groups for DM, but always got answears like "no thanks Im getting a spot in a tree group" or "Nay, I'll stay here and wait for group at tanglers"

so I dont know. but exp there usually be great.

I heard albs on excal lv there. they still do that?

Well you can't get a good faction with any of the Dartmoor mobs.
You can get neutral Svartalfer in Malmo or something right?

Makes it harder for albs to get near the lair.

Went there first time with my skald alone. Survived, didnt even get aggro.

managed to get a bad svart factoin so getting down there is nigh on impossible for me

1st part of malmo is svarts which u can get good faction with, rest is Drac's which u cant, we just zonewall it...

end of the day this isnt a mid is better than alb thread, just suggestion is all

Yes, we have had some great Utopia raids into Dartmoor (doesn't need that many people), and it is pretty easy to get right up to the dragon's lair without pulling too much aggro (where 'too much' means more than one 40+ group can handle). I'm sure we will have many more raids too, since we all love them

I think a lot of people just don't know the area well enough to know the best routes in and out, and also you do need to preform groups to go there who trust you not to get them all killed. People also need to be more alert in DM than at trees (but that is probably true of everywhere in the game except lyonesse anyway )
