I just got BF 1942.

Im at work at the mo and I cant wait to get home and slap it on!

I would like to know if I need any patches, will I have all the maps etc or will I have to DL them?

think you most probably need v1.4 which has 2 extra official maps in it if i remember rightly. you could try getting desert combat .35 but i am having probs running it with v1.4, anyone else had probs?

DC.38 is supposed to be released this evening at 5/6 pm UK time.
It has the necessary 1.4 patch fixes and <quote> a ton of goodies</quote>

Tis a HUGE patch tho (although I dont think its a patch, its a totally new build, weighing in at roughly 300mbs).

Get the 1.4 patch,
Once you got that, my advice is you get a feel for the game, before you start mod swapping.
