Congrats have already been said to Trem who seems to be very proud of his potent man juice:p (Well done)

I am just wondering whether men ever get broody for babies?

I held a 4 month old on Sat and my womb started a-fluttering, is it only women who are affected??

Thank you sweetheart.

Its weird for me, I know whats happening but my brain doesn't accept there is a baby until the baby is here and even then it takes me a good 6 months to adjust.

I can honestly say I have never been broody, we aren't built the same where babies are concerned.

what Trem said tbh. in this case we are of the same mind, and I don't even have kids! I once said the baby has to be there line to my ex, and she looked at me like I'd turned into a dancing rabbit though. In my logic that makes it grrl territory.

Aye its weird, me and Samm split up before she was pregnant, she always wanted kids and I didn't. I spoke about this to my mate and he said "if you want her to stay with you (if you ever get back together) you need to give her a baby" now that wasn't on my mind when I spermed her up but it made me think its something I need to do rather than want to.

Having said all that my son is my life and when I got him into my system (like I said about 6 months) he was my world and I would in a second die for him if need be.

Its so strange, its like a cool Lego set you want for Xmas but you don't know how to make it until you get it.

so, kids are equal to cool lego? I suppose thats one way of getting Vae more interested in having them! I am VERY broody, and have been, on and off, for about 3 years now, but I vascillate so quickly between desperately wanting kids and then being terrified of the responsibility. I don't think working with kids helps! Vae has already proved to me, with his neices, that until babies 'do' something, he just isn't interested, they're boring, although, I would think this may well change when he has his own.....she says hopefully!

Babies are very dull it has to be said, never did anything for me, but it is different when it's your own. And the whole baby bit doesn't last long in the scheme of things.

We both work and have done for all our daughters 8 years. Sharon and I both only work 4 days a week and that helped somewhat.

Never were tempted to have a second though, neither of us.

Congrats Trem, but you already knew that :)

Can't stand 'em tbfh. I can manage about 3 days of my sisters kids before I want to punt them back at her.

I'm 36 and not for a second have I ever thought "wouldn't it be nice if..."

...but I've gone out with girls who've spiked condoms and "forgotten" their pills :(

I am just wondering whether men ever get broody for babies?

I have never, ever once wanted a baby. I have never looked at someone else's baby, or held someone's baby and felt that I wanted one. I have never looked at someone's screaming, spoiled, pain in the ass child and wanted one.

However, there are times that I feel a deep connection with my missus, I look at her and feel all warm inside and I want to connect with her on a more intimate level. I see her with my sister's babies and it makes me smile seeing them together, her as a mum, that I love her to the point I don't want anyone else to have her babies, only me.

So, whilst I don't feel broody exactly, I guess that's my version of feeling broody?

All three of mine were "accidents" in that they weren't planned. That isn't to diminish them in any way (I love each of them in their own way), it's a statement of fact.

When I look at them and my wife, I get a feeling of family but not this overwhelming sense of protectiveness that fathers are supposed to get. I put that down to having a very poor EQ as I had to "learn" fatherly feelings. Call it what you like, but I misread emotions all the time.

All that said, Congratualtions Trem! Having rocket powered sperm is a bitch isn't it? ;)

quite possibly as its only women and the actual parents of the babies that actually find those poo&puke machines cute...

Congrats Trem,

and I Know exactly what your saying, "I'm the proud dad to a 6 months daughter"
at first "0-2mounths" it's overwelming, you just dont know what to make of any of it.
you struggel to adapt, your insecure and the mother is your GOD! it seems she holds all the answers, slowly though you begin to find your self, and as your duties increase, so does your trust in your own abilities.

But what I've found is that for each day that passes, after the Initial "Shock"
I fall deeper and deeper in love with this little person, never has any living thing, human or otherwise had such a total and complete "power" over me. I know love and devotion,
but never before on this level.

Exactly how I am, you love your mum or your dad or wife but it doesn't come close to what you feel about your own baby. Its so strange, its the purest love known to man, I can honestly say I can live without any living person but I can't live without my son, it would kill me if anything happened to him, he is my reason for breathing.

Soppy enough for ya Russ ;)

I get "broody" for killing children if that's what you mean?

Far, far too many of the fuckers.

I'd like a kid some day, but not a baby of my own. Always said that i'm going for adoption if anything. Get a kid + some kid gets a home = win win.

Never had the urge to have one though, not even a tickle.

I have 3 - I'm still somewhat tempted by a 4th but 5 bedroom houses arent cheap :p

The youngest is 22 months and at the peak of cuteness - when she's a bit older will be tempted to have another but think we will substitute and get a puppy instead :)
